Is this as good as Zenite?

Absolutely not. Zenith 901 is one of the top box, known for better Picture Quality, and can remember the zoom setting for each and different channels (not many box can do that). Find it for $59.99 at Circuit City.

Thank you. Is there 2 converters that would have different remote codes for a PIP TV set?

I haven't used this particular converter box, but Consumer Reports gave it an excellent rating -

Consumer Reports

This is a very good price for this converter box. More information on converter boxes can be found here.

I agree that the Zenith DTT901 is a very good box, probably better than the Consumer Reports ratings suggest based on all of its features. I bought the Insignia NS-DXA1-APT from Best Buy which is the equivalent model to the Zenith DTT901. Both are made by LG Electronics and have the same circuitry and features.

I recommend a box with Analog Pass Through (APT) which allows you to view analog channels with digital channels, though this feature will be less important next year when most analog TV channels switch to digital. The Tivax STB-T9 does not have Analog Pass Through. Both the Zenith DTT901 and the Insignia NS-DXA1-APT have Analog Pass Through, but the Zenith DTT900 and the Insignia NS-DXA1 do NOT have Analog Pass Through so be careful if you purchase either of these converter boxes.

You mean same model of converter box, but different remote code? I don't think there is one that let you do that.

Best way would be, buy a Zenith 901, and buy another model. Not sure if Insignia NS-DXA1-APT can be used in same room with Zenith 901, but I agree you should get box with Analog Pass Thru for sure.

Most of the places are out for this box. And you won't find the cheapest price like this one. Also free shipping.

so is this box recommended? ..i have 2 coupons to use..

I recommend Zenith DTT901 from Circuit City. Again, it has APT, individual Zoom settings for each channel, don't get hot at all, and one of the best picture quality available.

It works very well and has excellent picture quality. Avoid the Echostar/Dish Network DTVPal, as its software is full of bugs (I own one of these also).

Pulled the trigger, as this deal is $30 less expensive than the 2 local Zeniths. I do not need analog pass. Will see what the picture quality is about if they ship. At the end of the order while on the shoping mood also took Time subscription for $2.00/56 iss. I always take these offers and have the subscription for many years to come.

I remember on the AV forum how people were waiting with great anticipation for this and worried that their coupns would expire before it became available. I am glad i went with the Zenith DT901.

The potential "hackability" of this box looks very interesting (it has a serial port on the back, and some of the folks on avsforum are exploring the possibility of controlling and/or monitoring its operation via that port).

My coupons still had a month to go before expiration, but I didn't want to wait until the last moment... So I bought two of them... (thanks, OP!)

can the serial port be used to change channels from TiVo etc. OR an antenna turner??
