NOTE: Yes I know that for this price you can almost pick up two 4850's. HOWEVER there are some games where an 9800GX2 still performs better than two 4850's in crossfire mode. benchmarks

So I was just looking at video cards at Newegg and stumbled across this card. Other 9800GX2's are all selling for well over $300 so I was really surprised to see this one priced so low with no rebates. This is a very capable card (though it'll get quite hot and uses a lot of power). If you're looking at single cards, this will beat the 4850 easily and also beats the 4870 and GTX 260 and GTX 280. It's a beastly card at a very good price (well in this case).

$284.99 + 8.25 shipping = $293.24

Edit: To protect myself from possible flames. I found this on my own and was not aware that it was posted on SD until now.

Roughly $100 less than other 9800 GX2 cards on the egg. Good deal for those in the market.

I ordered a 9800gx2 earlier and returned it for a 4870.
The amount of power and heat this thing creates along with inherit dual GPU driver problems without DirectX 10.1 support didn't make sense to me for barely edging out a single 4870 GPU which can be had for cheaper also.

Works fine for me on Vista x64 Ultimate. Uses roughly 80 more watts in my system than my old 8800GT and runs relatively cool, but pushes alot of hot air outside the case. No driver issues that I can think of.

I'm running it with a Q6600 @ stock on a Corsair 550w PSU.
