Canon repaired our A75 and S400. I was about to take them to the recycling center when I discovered this thread. |

G9 $275 XTi $350 + tax and $10 shipped for both. I'm sending in a S50 and S410 for the two above cameras. It's better than having a 4 and 5 mp camera sitting around. No need to send in any batteries/chargers/cables either. |

Thx OP, noticed this thread in the past and had no need to use but luckily remembered when our 6 year old S400 screen stopped functioning. Sent it in free of charge and rec'd it back in about 1 1/2 weeks fixed for free. I know it is only 4 meg and have since upgraded to other Canon models, but use this as back-up. Have successfully taken over 5K pics with this camera so very happy. |

If your SD750 is working ok, it looks like you'll do better selling it yourself unless you want the G9, and even for that one I'm not sure if the tradein is a good deal... take a look at the selling prices yourself and decide. Of course if it's broken then go for the tradein. |

To be honest, I really would prefer something smaller, but S5 is a very nice camera (duh) and my son really likes it. He got named the official yearbook photographer after bringing it to some high school football games. We've also gotten some great shots at baseball games. confirmed that they do not replace the S1 anymore. my S1 just got the CCD malfunction, i sent it in and the rep said dont be surprised if i see a black S5 in its place... but i called the service center and the rep told me it was just repaired, not replaced |

Just called about my A40. Was given the option of the A580 for $75, the SD1000 for $!00, or the SX100IS for $125. I'm actually looking for a new digicam and want something with IS, so that rules out the A580 and SD1000. I also want something compact, which rules out the SX100IS. I might trade in my A40 at a later date, but right now none of the offerings are what I'm looking for so I think I'd rather spend the extra money and get exactly what I want. |

Called in and sent in my Canon S60 that had some strange LCD coloration and had been dropped a few times. Ended up taking the Rebel XTi for $350. For those wondering, the XTi comes in black, not silver (wouldn't get it if it was the latter IMO) and also includes the EF-S 18-55mm kit lens. A pretty good deal if you ask me! |

FallenAngel96 said:I sent in my S2IS... it turned on but it was all black, even through the viewfinder. I just got an estimate of $157 to fix it, no offers of any other cameras For a little over $200 I can get a brand new SX110IS so I'll have them send my camera back. Not sure what I'll do with it.. maybe get someone local to look at it. I was really hoping for a decent offer of another camera though. Have a s2is also. Hasn't happpened to me, yet?, but I noticed this on the ratings and reviews sections on the canon s2 page. http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&fc... Black Screen of Death fix "We have been very satisfied with the camera until a couple weeks ago when I got the dreaded black screen of death. Believe it or not there is an entire website dedicated to this problem. Search for canon s2 troubleshooting and you will find the site. The fix is to do the following. Set you dial on top to TV. Once you are there set the exposure to 1/15. The way to do this is to click the dial on the back of the camera to the left. There is a fraction listed at the bottom of the screen towards the left. As you click you will see the fraction reduce. Stop at 1/15. Then, take a picture, count to seven and then open the battery door and remove batteries. Put them back in and turn the camera back on. Not sure how someone figured this out, but after trying this once, it worked. For others on the site I found it took an hour. The issue is a stuck iris. Overall, we have been very pleased with this camera and with the black screen fixed, we are still satisfied." |

Just called about my SD110 that went haywire the other day. They said it could be repaired/repklaced for free because it seems like the CCD issue. They are sending me a pre-paid label to send them my camera first to have them test it out I guess. Anyone recently sent an SD110 and got back anything better or did they just repair it?
