Chris76 said:I just called twice and they would not budge. What time did you call them IceColdKila. I don't know what i am going to do ether the XS for $359 or go to WalMart and buy one off the shelf for 379$ and i can get a employee discount through inlaws.
Sent Email I turn in a G9 and get offered a SX10 with lower mega pixels and a XS $359 before $10 shipping witch i don't rely need that much camera. This is not right i can go to the store down the street and get a SX20 for $379 or XS for $499 brand new and this is before the holiday sales start. All i ask is to make the Canon Loyalty program worth my loyalty. Chris, What's wrong with your G9? Are you interested in selling it? -Tom |

Chris76- I just sent you a private message with my e-mail address. Send me an e-mail. I might have something I can trade with you to get you the camera you are looking for out of this program. |

I have called a couple different times now and everyone has said that the SX20 is not in the program. the last call I made they did say that August 3rd was when the last "matrix" was released that contained new cameras. She told me that they don't know until the day it is released what will be on it. She said they come out every 3-4 months usually. We should be due for some new choices soon. I am torn as to whether I should get the SX10 or wait for a possible SX20 because I don't think they will budge to give me an SX20 can anyone confirm ordering an SX20? BK |

I got the same exact answer bkgovols when i called. I just want the SX20 for the HDVideo cuz i got kids and it would be a lot more convenient carrying one cam/video recorder then both plus would be a good backup if bat dead on camcorder. I know of the complaints that 12mp is to much for the processor makes some images grainy supposedly but last time i checked all digital cameras i have use you can change how many mega pixels you want to use. IceColdKila said he did but ill believe it when i see it lol. |

I think I'm going to try to trade in my A75 (with the lens recall issue) for an SX10. After looking at some sample 720p shots I gotta say it's really, really tempting to wait on them offering the SX20, but I also noticed that CHDK doesn't run on the SX20 (yet) so I think that and some upcoming trips I have planned are pushing me towards the immediate solution. |

That's not how it works. The sensor has a set number of pixels and the noise performance is the same regardless of you using it at full 12 megapixels or lowering to 10, 8, 6, whatever. |

no go on the SX20 either. Rep said they haven't even started refurbishing those yet. Damn it! I need someones expertise. I have done a lot of research and looked at pictures and I can't decide. I have an SD450 and want to get a better camera before going to Cancun on Dec 5th. I can either get the SX10 or the SD890IS. Should I get one of those are just wait! |

Does it matter what kind of FILM SLR camera you turn in or do only their better ones qualify? |

Depend on how badly you want a SX20 without assurance that it will ever included in the loyalty program, you can get a SD1200 for little over $100 now and do the trade later IF sx20 shows up. http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/hot-deals/964847?highlight_key=y... |

. just did a dslr D20 for a D50 with 28-135IS at $759. . my issue was dirt on the sensor, spots on the pictures. Half truth, but good enough to qualify for the cheap upgrade. |

I think I will just get the SX10. I don't need HD video and the reviews look better on it anyway. Thanks! |

I have a busted SD850 IS. in the meantime i purchased an overpriced Casio Exilim EX-Z90 point and shoot and it has a pretty miserable lens, a serious downgrade from the 850 but i had to purchase it as i was in Japan and needed to take pictures. Having heard about this loyalty program, think i should trade in my 850IS and get a medium bodied (SX10) or SLR if given the chance to upgrade to them? |

I think it can be pretty much any canon SLR film camera, I have an EOS 650 which is like 20 years old (one of the first couple EOS models out I think) and they still offered me the XS kit before. I think they are likely so overrun with those XS kits that they don't care too much on that as long as its canon and an SLR. Good Luck BK |

I will receive my SX10IS tomorrow!! My S2Is that I am trading for is actually having problems focusing so I couldn't wait to see what would come out new. This will be a great camera to take around when out and about. I will post my impressions once I check it out. The ordering process for those who might be wondering was very smooth and at least for me took less than 30 minutes including hold time and a couple of transfers to different people and it shipped that same day 2nd day. I will also report on the apparent condition of the camera when I get it in case anyone cares. I have read a lot of good reviews of the SX10 that made me not worry about the SX20 as a possibility to wait on. I have an HD video camera anyway that I never use as it is so the HD video didn't really concern me. Sharp images are my main concern. Good luck to the rest of you all with your choices. BK |

I received my SX10 today. Came in a very well packaged box. Looks BRAND NEW. No scratches, very clean. Came with manuals, usb cable, batteries, 16mb SD card (3 pictures can fit, lol), and video cable. Very impressed with this process and can't wait to learn some new things! |

I received mine today as well and I would agree with your assessment everything looks new except for the refurbished sticker on the side of the camera. Mine had no visible marks that I could see yet. I didn't have to set the date on mine when I turned it on (it was correct except for a couple hours off) and that may be from them testing it but if it was actually a brand new (overstock return) camera like some have said they are getting I think I would have had to set this. I could be wrong there though and that means nothing. Either way I can't wait to try it out soon. I highly recommend this whole process as well. BK |
