8. Do you offer installatron with Ricebuster accounts?
No, Installatron is not available with Ricebuster accounts. Contact HostPC for hosting if you need Installatron.

That was where I got my information too, when initially investigating the ricebusters option.

I really have to say the installatron is very cool, and if it comes with the cheapie accounts it makes them an extra value. However since the scripts are not supported, you can burn through a lot of time trying to make one of the "auto-installed" applications work if it does not work right out of the box.

The "ricebuster" special yall are referring to DOES include Installatron, which is the automatic script generator. All our

This link at hostpc says that Ricebusters do not have Installatron. Ricebuster link.

Does this ricebuster account support addon domains? Can I have multiple domains under a single account?

No, this is a single domain package.

Another link here, no more info but a slightly humorous "No Rice" image.

The only caution is their attitude that if you had a problem (whether with all the server moves and system changes and accounting foulups, or something else) it was somehow you who had the problem. Not that they wouldn't help, but if you dared to mention that it wasn't convenient, or might even be something they could avoid doing in the future, you didn't get service with a smile. That attitude unfortunately doesn't seem to have changed.

I have seen hosting sites with attitude problems when you ask for help because you're a newbie. It's like they are run by a bunch of 14 years old pre-teen geeks look down on "normal" people.

Those of you with multiple domains, do they assign a single shared IP address or are the domains on random shared IP addresses preferably on different C blocks?

I'm sorry but I really don't know. I think they are subdirectories within your main hosting folder but from the outside they appear as different domains.

I'm reasonably though not absolutely certain that all your domains for a given hosting package, plus a whole bunch of other ones, share one IP address.

From my experience it's usually one shared IP. You still have a "main" domain but you can add extra domains to it but they all have their own "root" directory - unlike subdomains.

I gone to the site sign up I chose the package I wanted. I wanted to put a sub domain but it will not let me get to the account and yes I did open an account. Any help would be appreciate. It did take me to where get custom domain that will cost a bit for a domain name. Can't you use a sub domain instead of a custom. For some people the cost of domain name isn't much but being disable and living on gov say so its a lot.Hope some one has some ideas and Thank you for reading this.

Sorry, you need to have a domain name or order one ... for $8/yr, there's no way we can include one.

MelodyAnn: Although I don't care for some of their practices, 1and1.com, $6.99/year domain and small website. If you can use a .us domain there's a $2.99/year first year deal. All include email too and private registration. This might be acceptable for your needs and finances.

As for HOSTPC, I highly recommend.

Yes, I too have seen that problem in the past and it is NOT cool and also the reason I am no longer with HostPC. I know that HostPC might be the cheapest but I've always gotten fast and FRIENDLY technical support from the guys/gals at ADT Hosting Nope, not at cheap as hostPC but I never felt like an idtiot asking them questions.

alert mods

So, McDealer... Any heads up on that promised silver medal for current customers?

alert mods

The only problem I have with Hostpc is the billing/helpdesk system. They have changed it a couple times. Every time they did it, they lost my signin information and my domains were suspended without my notice.

I had to signup new accounts and asked them to restore my hosting. Kind of annoying, but they fixed it in a timely matter.

Anyway, Joseph has been very helpful. Feel free to email him if you have any problems with your hosting. I hope they can settle with WHM, the current helpdesk/billing software, and stop playing with other software.

Of cause they are going to treat you like gold. You paid like 12 times more than what you would have paid at hostpc.

You can find most of the answers in the Hostpc forum anyway.

Isn't 1and1 the worst hosting ever?

alert mods

Just wondering... I have my domain listed with yahoo. I can still use this offer to host, right? thanks.

-Thanks for the answer, Scoot.

alert mods

newspup - yes, you point your domain to the nameservers at hostpc

McDealer,

It looks like I missed the two-for-one special. I'd ask for an exception, but the post specifically tells me not to do so.

When will the next offer be posted?

Ya never know, but I'd keep your eyes open for days that end in 8
