Does this lens auto focus on the XT, XTi and/or XSi? I own a nikon and the 50mm nikon will only auto focus on the D80, not D40/D40x/D60, so I am just wondering. I want to recommend it to a friend. Thanks

I know it does on the XSi... I would assume it means it will on the others, since it does have the built in motor.

Great lens. Here is a shot with it in natural light in a parking lot at night (on my XSi).

edited to add: it definitely autofocuses on the XT as well.

I've got an xti with the 50mm f/1.8 II, as well as a tamron 17-50 f/2.8, and a Canon 70-200mm f/4L, which are all great value lenses and very sharp for their price ranges. The tamron serves as my walkabout lens, and the 50mm is if i'm taking portraits or other candid shots in low light. It is a beaut! Nothing beats the build quality and beauty of the L glass though. I got sucked in with the 70-200mm f/4L and man I'm HOOKD! Can't wait until I can afford more L glass.

wow matt. i only own 3 lenses, and they are the exact 3 lenses you own (as long as the 70-200 f4 is IS).

i love my nifty fifty.
