The brand new Denon 1909 which is currently listed on Amazon and even JR.com for 649.99 is on sale if you call JR for only 499.99. If you are looking for a receiver this is quite a deal, the real kicker here is the new Audessey setup system on all 2008/09 models.

When I saw this posted I simply called their 1-800 (800-806-1115) number on the website and said I saw the deal posted on-line and they hooked me right up, incredibly easy.

Good deal OP! This is $100-$150 cheaper than most other sites I've seen sell it for. Good price for a great receiver.

Dude, seriously, you need to learn to read. Its $499 if you order by PHONE. The internet price was, and still is, $649. It is backordered now, but they'll still take your order @ $499 and ship when they get it.

though i know it might be rare and not at all store policy. I got the best buy in my area to match the J&R phone deal which works quite nicely for me since i had a ton of best buy cards. They of course dont have to match it but i asked nicely and found a magnolia person willing to be flexible who approved the price match with few questions asked.

I just bought one using this phone deal. I sure did not think it was possible, but it was. $499 and free shipping The lowest cost anywhere else has been $588. Great deal!!

PS - does anyone know how to find out about these phone only deals???

Ummm... and what is that?

EDIT: Dynamic volume and equalizers. Ie. no need to adjust volume/equalizers for different channels/music/tv/whatever....
Eh, guess it too hard to change the volume these days.

Just ordered this today, and was quoted 499.99 when I asked for the current price of the Denon AVR-1909. Total was $529.24 (shipping?).
