Sams club has the 42" Magnavox LCD 1080p 878.00 I bought this and the picture is very good nice budget set for 950.00 with tax for a 42" 1080P. link to samsclub
The link to sams club that was provided turns up the following message: We were unable to locate the requested item.
Subsequent searches on the site also turned up nothing for that specific television. I then proceeded to call 3 area Sam's Clubs and was unsuccessful in locating the tv as well.
I found the tv on Amazon listed at $1,199.99 + free shipping, so I guess this is a great deal if it can be found at a local Sam's Club. I guess it's an instore special and not advertised on their website. Good luck!

I was in my local Sam's Club 4 hours ago. I counted 16 of these TV's in one display. Item # 187248A; Magnavox 42MF438B/27; 42"LCD 1080P with 3 HDMI inputs. I checked on their web-site and GUESS WHAT??? THEY DON'T EVEN BOTHER TO LIST THIS ITEM. No wonder, they have so many on hand. The web-site and the stores have graduated from the Fry's School, wherein they treat each other like lepers. I sent an email to Sam's Club, will let you know what the response is.

On-line links are fixed! Correct item number is 187248. This looks like a really good buy, primarily because it is from Sam's Club, who still has a "Satisfaction Guaranteed" policy.

I am interested in buying this one at my local sam's club. I just got a hd-dvr box from comcast, they didn't have on with the hd imput, they told me that the red. red, green, blue, white cables would work just as well and gave me that cable. It has the same 5 things at each end. they knew I was setting it up with a hd tv. does anyone that bought this know if this tv would work in this situation?
I don't understand this stuff, getting it for my husband's birthday, and want to do it right. I am still happy with my 20inch normal one. LOL
TIA

I bought this 42 inch magnovox 1080p for 798.00 at Sams Club and it has a great picture and sound. The HDTV looks great plus the blue ray looks even better.

I got a 32 Magnavox from WalMart for $399 and it rocks. I havent seen many LCDs that I woud say are substantially better. This is a dark horse in the HDTV race
