the samsung 69 series is one of the few matte screen options on the market. this makes a Huge difference in bright windowed rooms.

I just spoke with someone at CC and they told me that they would be out of business if they sold them at this price. He also told me that Frys likes to sell refurbished TV's and that CC is no longer doing price match on them for that reason. He said they are not obligated to tell you whether or not the TV is refurbished until you purchase it and see it on the box. CC told me that even though they can't price match they might be able to work something out if you go in and talk to them.

After talking with CC I called Frys and asked the guy if the TV was refurbished. He said it was not. I may have to make a trip to Frys soon! Does anyone know if a new samsung matt screen TV is in the works or coming out soon?

CC lied. They had it at 1350 a few weeks ago and there were 10% coupons around that woulda made it about 1230 or less with rebates (entertainment.com). If the difference between 1150 and 1230 on the 5 sets the store might actually have in stock puts them out of business then they should just close their doors now.

Oh wait .. CC's the place where the moron kid cut off the moutns on my speakers 'to try to make them fit' then told me to return them mangled to the store I got them from and demand a refund.

They should close their doors anyway.

I did end up purchasing it at FRY'S. They couldn't match their online price exactly in the store when I went, but ended up giving it to me for the online offer plus the shipping cost (1163.00). I ended up purchasing their repair program in case something breaks on it (5 years onsite for 150$). I am not sure that was the best move, but rather be safe then sorry.

One thing I noted was that the unit was new (unlike CC's claim that they are refurbs) and that when they pulled the unit up on their computers in the store it showed they were making like 3$ on the TV at 1199.00. Maybe the way it is setup is to show the profits after taxes/shipping/commission/etc. Not sure, but sounded fine to me. I think I also get the 60 day pricematch and have a 60 day return policy - no questions asked or restocking fee according to them. TV looks great and I am happy with it. I wonder if I should have waited for the Sony 40W4100 to come down more though...
