Tomorrow Sunday 8/10 only (unless your CVS starts deals a day early, in which case it would also work today) CVS has Playskool cottony cloth baby wipes 80 count for $2.50 apiece (actually 2/$5 with ECB card). There is a CVS coupon for $2 off per pack of 80 count or larger here (not sure if I can post this, mods - if not, it's retrievable via the link at iheartcvs dot com on the right-hand side entitled "new cvs coupons available", look for the $2 off coupon). Must say that it is YMMV, according to iheartcvs, there are mixed reports whether the coupon will go through, or will beep at the register. Note that the coupon expires tomorrow, 8/10/08, and says "Limit one per customer". At my local CVS, I have used these types of coupons in the past, and they go through fine.

Here's an interesting YMMV combination. Buy 4 packs of wipes, use 4 of these coupons in 1 transaction, find a filler item (pencil or gum, say for $.50), and if you already have one, combine with a $2 off $10 coupon described here (you need to have already retrieved this coupon, since it's been taken down from the PDF on the site referenced in that thread), then you could really have fun, your out of pocket would be:

$10.00 (4 packs of Playskool wipes @ $2.50 each)
$0.50 (filler item)
______
$10.50
- $8 (4 $2 off Playskool wipe CVS coupons)
- $2 off $10 CVS coupon
______
$0.50 + tax for 4 packs of baby wipes + filler. Hope some of you get this one to work!

My experience is if this type of Q doesn't beep at the register with your card, trying to use it more than one in one order will guarantee beeping. And if it beeps on first trial, very likely the cashier will read the Q and see it says limit one per customer, and if he's nice enough he might push it through once for me. Either way, it won't work 4 times for me in one order, so I'll save myself the trouble of trying this deal. But good luck to all for trying!

However, if it doesn't beep on your first trial. you might wanna work it into this deal, buy $25 Baby items listed and get $5ECB limit 1 offer, this item is included along with other huggies, enfamil, J & J bath products. Even if you do ten separate orders for this items only, ($2.5 -$2 Q) times 10, get back $5ECB, basically free 10 packs of wipes, you pay tax only. But again this is in theory, because the coupon expires tomorrow. After all, how many orders can you do in one trip without drawing attention from the cashiers?!

BTW, according to a cashier who's pretty customer-friendly (for a change), they recently had to sign papers before getting their paychecks that they won't accept coupons blindly, and push through coupons without checking, or else they'll be deemed as abusing coupons themselves and get fired. And I think if you're lucky enough to have a friendly cashier who's willing to push through coupons for you like the scenario in OP, you might want to weigh in on this before you do it: you want to keep him there for your future smooth checkouts or see him go for reason above... just a thought.

Score!

CVS #1, two packages on the shelf, 2 purchases
CVS #2 none to be found
CVS #3 a ton on the shelf -Two purchases at the pharmacy, 2 at the front register, then sent DH back in for 2 more
CVS # 4 last two purchases

We had to head out about 30 minutes away anyway

thanks!

Congrats! Way to go!! That was good strategy, going to multiple stores, team up with F & F, plus luck out with coupon not beeping... good job! I must say I never tried checking out at the pharmacy except when paying for prescriptions. That's another good option. For me, the coupon beeped the first time I tried to use it, and the cashier was not gonna help, so I knew it was not happening for me. So glad you managed it!
