also, you get free shipping on orders over $35 (before taxes, accessories don't count) so you could just buy another 300 minute card to get the free shipping (original posts suggests buying two phones, you get 300 more minutes but it seems that you would have to use at least that amount on the 2nd phone). Anyone know if there is any problem saving the 300 minute airtime card or is there a maximum amount of time that you have after buying it to activate it?
I bought a phone over a year ago, and when I activated the minutes were still good. YMMV, but it seems as though the expiration date is a fair bit o' time... not counting the 60 days once you actually activate the card, that is.
On a side note, I'm surprised this deal hasn't received more interest. 5 cents a minute is on par with service-tied cell plans, and certainly a lot lower than the 10 cents paid off the shelf. Any insight? Is this not as rare as I thought it was?
Which network does net 10 use???How is the connection???Dropped calls? Never heard of it. I'm using ATT (cingular) pay as you go....rarely use phone...net cost $9.00 mo...100 minutes per 90 days.
In my area they are on T-Mobile network.
I have heard they also use AT&T in some areas.
I've used Net10 all over the Midwest with absolutely zero problems. I've also used it (briefly) on the East coast. I can't speak for any usage west of the Mississippi, but I've been very satisfied when I've used it: no dropped calls and reception equal (or better!) than my main Verizon service.
Net10 gives you a lots of minutes and great price I love net10.
Beware, however. No matter how feature-filled your phone model is, chances are a lot of them are blocked by Net-10. For example, I have the Motorola w375 which should have internet access and MP3 ringtones and USB connectivity. None of them. You can only connect to the Net-10 website, it doesn't support MP3 files, and I can't connect it to my computer (all verified as blocked by the Net-10 support people). I'm p-o'd, to say the least, as I shelled out the extra cash for that model rather than one of the earlier ones like I've been using specifically for those features.
The cards are good for a year, the phones should be at least that time for the mins. Limit of 2 per customer. Order came to $58.30 shipped. Thats $.04 a min. Nice. ![]()

Net 10 is probably the worst for features. But its the cheapest too. Too bad they cant figure out a balance between the two. IMO thats the worst thing about them.

Most people that have NET10 or T-Mobile TOGO have the phone with one purpose only: make a phone call when you really need it. Other features are useless at least for me.

That's exactly why I didn't get in on this deal. To my knowledge, 5 cents/minute is unbeatable in the prepaid market, but I choose T-Mobile To Go because every time I refill, ALL of my minutes get extended another 365 days (I'm Gold Rewards, an "elite" status which is attained after spending $100 cummulatively on refills). I will wait for the Target deal to come along (February-ish, I believe), then I will buy a couple 1,000 minute cards at a net cost of around 6.5 cents/minute which will keep me going until the next year.
On the other hand, if you use enough minutes that the relatively short lifespan of Net10 minutes doesn't affect you, then Net10 is clearly the way to go.
Net 10 is owned by Trac Fone. Not sure what network they use but Id bet they are the same.
so if I have a T-Mobile phone, would Net-10 SIM card work with it?

Not bad at all. But an important point to mention is that these minutes will last for 240 days (I think). Per Net10 website, one 300 minute card will provide 60 days of service, so 4 cards will add upto 240 days of service.
