Seems like a nice laptop, even at $700

no good? I thought I'd have at least one comment saying why this deal is either good or no good...

I had this laptop two weeks ago when Staples had it for $699. VERY nice, but the 16 inch screen seems really small next to a 15.4 widescreen. I ended up returning it because I could not get used to the screen. The specs on this notebook can't be beat for the price. Checkout the touch control center on the left side.

FYI. CC is offering a slightly different version (4GB RAM) of this laptop this week for $750. You can also get FAR router, printer, bag, software.

ACER 16 inch

OfficeDepot have this laptop, except 4GB ram for $699

I don't understand..if this is 16inch wide, why would it be smaller than a 15.4" wide?
Looks like OD has better deal...1g more ran at same price, other spec highlight looks the same.

Gonna buy at CC and price match to OfficeDepot. That way, I can still get the printer, router, bag, and Norton to sell to help offset the cost.

It LOOKS smaller. Do a side by side comparison. While in the store I measured the screen just to be sure the 16 inch was bigger and it is: about 5/8th inch wider and 1/4 inch taller. I spent 3 days configuring the ACER and took it back because the screen appeared so small compared to viewing my 15.4 inch widescreen.

Not sure how a bigger screen would appear smaller...Could that have been because of a different resolution setting?

It's because these 16" laptops are 16:9 aspect ratio instead of 16:10 like other widescreen laptops. Hope that clears up any confusion.
