The link just goes to daily deals index. Alas, if you cut & paste, it comes up pronto. Thanks for the try.
Thanks OP.

On paper, the BE-2400 and the x2 4400+ are almost identical, except the BE gives you energy efficiency and the 4400+ has overclocking options. I like energy efficiency (most of my rigs run 24/7), but... I like overclockability just a little bit more. If the 4400+ (at $49) had a $10 off code, then I'd jump at it. This, though...
So close to what I'm looking for, but not quite a cigar.

As your home electricity bill heads for $5-600 monthly in the summer in the south you will want all the BE's you can get. The 4400 will cost you $20/year more to operate.
Any decent MB deal out there for this chip? I assume this is an AM2 socket?
I like this deal as it is low wattage, so my power supply is not as strained... Also, I guess I can use a cheaper cooler? (Not interested in OCing...)

The BE-2400 is just a cherry-picked X2 4400+ tested to more stringent voltage standards. Voltage rating aside, they're identical chips. You should have more room for overclocking with the BE-2400.
Get a new 790G chipset 3300 graphics. Very powerful graphics and super efficient. These boards have DDR3 onboard video memory for great performance.
One of the combos with this was $124.95 discount should apply.
Good thing about this board if you add another you get the use of both the onboard and card graphic capabilities. But even the 3450 (which is just slightly more powerful than the onboard 3300) will use more power than the board and processor most of the time.

If you wanted to overclock you'd buy a black edition which has an unlocked multiplier. There's no reason to buy a 4400+ over a BE-2400... they're functionally the same.
just got my be-2400
it works great
i can easily overclock it to 11.5 x 250mhz = 2875mhz!! I haven't tried to go up higher because i will need voltage tweak.
I found my HD playback is much smoother as well!

Find a deal on 780G mobo's and if you wait another 6 months, the price on 790G should drop enough ..
You can passively cool this processor. Use a case with decent air flow and a high efficiency air cooler. If you are lucky, you may pick up an Open Box Sunbeam Core Contact for ~$25.
NOW DOWN TO $29.99 SHIPPED USING THE CODE IN THE OP'S POST!!!!!!!!!

Dang it, I thought about this for a couple of days and only just pulled the trigger this morning. Ugh... Should have waited. Oh well...
This is now one of the all time good deals on a cpu.
Purchased for $30 + tax - live.com CashBack. Should be a decent upgrade from my 2 year old x2 3800+ (I'm more interested in the processor running more efficiently) which I should be able to sell to recoup some of the costs.
