Good deal on this one...
What does a "White Box Pack" mean? Is it safe to assume that this is an original headset?

Probably the same thing as "bulk packaging" means on eBay auctions for these, Chinese fakes!
Personaly I prefer Motorola retail packaging so I know what I am getting.
JMHO
Thanks OP

I'm not positive, but I purchased several Motorola HS850's in the White Box Pack and the unit appears genuine. The product is packaged in a white box with the headset bubble wrapped. It comes with an AC charger and an instruction sheet that is not from Motorola. The reason they gave was that these units were intended for sale with cel phone bundles. With that said, every unit I've bought, work out of the box.
Thanks OP! Snagged one along with an H500. Hopefully White Box only mean minus retail packaging.
can i use coupon codes ($10 off $40: CPS0810) and get MS CashBack?

MS Service Agreement, point 17 says that You will not earn Cash Back awards on purchases where... (g) you also use a separate discount or coupon.
So, maybe you might not get MS CashBack. I don't know for sure. But, maybe somebody who has used a coupon code with MS CashBack can comment.
I placed an order and got an email stating "Your order was shipped on 08/18/08 from our overseas factory via "Regular" delivery." Apparently its being shipped directly from Hong Kong.... so I guess there is a high chance of these being Chinese fakes?
I also checked out the reseller ratings: reviews . Not very good reviews
.
I should have done my homework... hopefully it will be the real deal and get it in a reasonable time.

Unit works does not mean genuine... How does the speaker/microphone quality on both ends (you and the person you talks to)?
fwshark: did you buy from Cell Phone Shop? or from someplace else?
also, Motorola has a guide to tell if its fake or not. Motorola Guide
I got my Jabra BT8040 from CellPhoneShop.com yesterday (shipped from HK in a white box containing the unit, charger, and a small piece of instruction paper). I charged it up fully, and it paired fine with my LG Shine. Audio quality on both ends was very good. I used it for ~30 min, and let it idle for about 8 hours. After 9 hours from the fully charged state, the battery is now completely dead(or drained). I will give Jabra a call tomorrow to verify if my BT8040 is genuine or not.
I will keep it posted.
does anyone know if this works with the PS3? the h700 does not work with it properly??????????

I bought them from Cell Phone Shop. I'm no expert, but I compared it to the guide and I can't tell the difference.
I compared it to a unit I bought from Amazon a year ago and they look identical. If it's a fake, it's a good job.
These are guaranteed fakes.
how was the battery life on the one you bought from CellPhoneShop?
I bought a H700 from them in the winter. I found out later about the Motorola guide. Sure enough it was a fake. It was a pretty good fake but the battery was garbage. After a month the battery would only last a few hours. I might buy a cheap charger from them but would never buy a BT headset from them again.
Just got off phone with Jabra. They checked a couple of things as well as the serial number, and concluded it was genuine. They would have no problem repairing or exchanging it. Hmmm...
