NO, this is NOT okay! When you call the corporate number and they put you on hold to "look up inventory" what they are doing is calling the local store! They have no sure fire way of checking stock from their end, and will either call the store or tell you to. Come on man, read the 3 paragraphs into this thread (the OP ffs) and you'll see:

First of all why these items are on clearance, because it is discontinued models...

If store manager said that "everything sent back to warehouse, as it is a discontinued item", then there should not be any clearance sale...

Got it.. some time store managers are reserving some items for themselves( in the back of the store), so that they can purchase the item in the last clearance tier and sell it in eBay or somewhere for good price to make money...

Just call the corporate office and inform the store# and SKU number and check with them that it is returned to warehouse or not, if not file a compliant against the store manager...

So next time others will not repeat this kind of game...

You can also go to another store and ask the associate to go to their AS400 system to check the inventory in store you found 3 in stock...
Also talk to them friendly when the stock status will get updated ( on daily basis ..etc..)
