Something similar to the Staples lookup for an SKU?
You have to do that in store at their kiosk.
The in-store kiosk will show the approximate number of items available at each store.
However, you can use the OD website to see if an item is in stock at stores in your area.....just select the item and look for this link: "Check local store availability." Accuracy of the information is another question!
Note: The link I mentioned won't be available if the item has been changed to "Delivery Only." In that case you usually have to go to a store and use the kiosk.....unless someone knows of another method.
Comes up as "item not found" on in store price/inventory check. Asked an employee, and he checked computer and said delivery only.
Sometimes, employee get lazy to enter their internal network and instead check the website. Website always say delivery only for all clearance items EVEN if it does exist in stores. What is your zip code?

I checked it on the Ink Depot computer. I didn't ask the employee until it came up as 'item not found/Invalid SKU' or something like that. I asked the employee figuring I might have mis-copied the sku.

OD inventory has always been location dependent. What happens when you change to pick-up from delivery and reload the item page, does the price go down? In my area, all clearance items show the right/lower price on the website but clearance item is never available for in store pick-up.

What happens when you change to pick-up from delivery and reload the item page, does the price go down? Price stays the same, 229.99. Tried 6 diff stores in my area, no luck. Not even available for delivery.
Here are first stage clearance items. Not the greatest prices but to keep an eye on:

I found a 750Gb seagate internal hard drive PATA drive in my local store. I have been looking for a larger than 500Gb pata drive for my Tivo and couldn't believe I found this drive. It was marked 99 but rang up $49 which I was glad to see. My Tivo will now hold 665 hours of video. I doubt there are many of these left but if you are looking for one worth checking out OD.
strolled in OD today and found these: - Energizer battery CR2450, 3V Marked at $0.43 cents --> rang at $0.01 (barcode: 039800085239) - Office Depot Mouse Pad - Has a kitty in it.. rang as marked at $0.37 (Item 659-330)
Picked this up at Alhambra, CA location on 5/30/10. Was there to look at an HP i3 laptop and saw this one listed for $499.99. It was not advertised in the weekly ad. When I went to ring up, the manager told me this was not listed in the ad because the model was being discontinued and they had only the display model left, which was marked 10% off at $450. He offered to take another 10% off, bringing it to $399. When I did a search for SKU # on OfficeDepot.com it comes up for $499, which is still a good deal, and shows "delivery only" for 2 locations (Montebello and Alhambra) I input now. Great laptop and can't beat the deal for an i3 processor. Acer definitely gives you more bang for the buck. Only thing it's missing is bluetooth.
