As most people know, Office Depot has very nice clearance deals that pop up fairly often. The digital cameras within the last couple of weeks are a few great examples. I was hoping we could start a monthly thread, similar to the Target B&M clearance thread. Be sure to include items that have just been clearanced (.01 and .02) so we can keep an eye out and of course the HOT deals with .03 and .04 endings! I know I visit my local store on a weekly basis just to see how the prices are doing and many other FW deal hunters probably do as well, this thread could make it much easier for all of us! Of course the main reason for the change is...jschuman from the Target thread has implemented his script on this thread to allow auto-updating!
The Office Depot clearance price structure is as follows... .01 - first stage of clearence, only a few dollars off the price .02 - second stage, not so hot still .03 - third stage, getting much warmer, this is a couple of weeks after .01, stock is probably running out .04 - possibly only display model left, super hot prices, BUY BUY BUY

Helpful tips provided by gboshort, thanks!... In the ink depot, you can use the computer to check the current computer price by typing in the SKU. That computer will also tell you qty on hand at the local store. I look around and put the SKUs into my cell phone, then walk over to that computer and check to see if any are mismarked.... Then you can walk up to the cashier and when she tells you the item is free, you can say "Really? Wow! Thanks!" even though you knew it all along.
Nobody is posting the Clearance deals that they have found is why it is no longer being used.

For consistency, please use the format, ~SKU Description Price~ when adding a new item.
YOU MUST READ THIS FIRST BEFORE CLUTTERING THE THREAD WITH ALREADY-ANSWERED QUESTIONS, LEST YOU BE RIDICULED BY PEOPLE WHO REALLY DON'T WANT YOU READING THIS THREAD TO BEGIN WITH
Steps for checking instore prices via the online website:
1) Go to OfficeDepot.com 2) select "view cart" on the left hand side 3) select "pick up at store" 4) "find a store" will come up. select the first one you want to check. 5) enter sku ###### in the search field 6) if you get a "No results found for '######'" or "low availability", press back on your browser twice, and select another store. 7) repeat steps 5 & 6 until you find a store that has it. If you want a more accurate search, visit your local store so they can check availability at other stores for you.
Important: Instore pickup is horribly inaccurate. If you don't get the price that others are getting, a "The product requested is not available online", or "no results found", we don't wanna hear about it. get off your lazy as and check it out at the B&M. DO NOT CALL, or else the employee will say they have none and the employees will buy them all and you will get NOTHING.
.03 and .04 clearance and some other clearances can not be ordered online anymore. This was due to the stores having too many hassles when products were out of stock.

Found 1 store with none and the $29.04 price, but the store across town had 3, when I got there they were still at $99.99, manager wouldn't budge. Looked up other stores within 100 miles, all $29.04, she still wouldn't budge because hers still showed active status. What's a mother to do?

OD clearance prices vary from one store to the next. Often, an item will be cleared out of certain stores while other stores will continue to carry it.
You can save yourself driving by checking the price before you go. Go to the website, select instore pickup, select the desired store, and search for the item. The in-store price will be shown. However, you cannot get an accurate inventory reading using this method.

You also can't get the price if it shows item not available in your area, which clearance items most often do, and the prices don't usually vary in this area from store to store, in my experience. It will eventually drop at that store, unfortunately I probably won't happen to be there that day.

What you can do is buy it from the store at 99.99 and then go to the other store which shows the 19.04 price and do a PM there or return rebuy. I have done it once successfully.
This is my first post, mainly b/c I have been scared to post. ha I am curious if people find the OD deals by going to the store and seeing them, or playing with the website inputting skus to see what is one sale. I am totally just curious...

I am totally just curious...For me it is going in store and looking for the yellow clearance tags, and checking through any of the clearance racks. Sometimes the clerance items have an orange sticker, but checking the sku # at the kiosk gives the true price (sometimes it's lower than the orange sticker).
something fishy going on Office Depot website, all the clearance prices have gone back to original prices. whether you choose for in store pick up or delivery no changes in prices... also you can not check if the item is in any store or not anymore..
I check prices quite often. The employee in computers/printers does her best to ignore me. She almost asked if she could help me today but stopped mid sentence when she saw it was me.
She even turned off the computer where you can check prices so I could not use it. I don't know what I did to her, nothing that I know of. Maybe I bought something she had planned to buy?
I will try and go to the store in the evening in the future. Hopefully she won't be there then.
