can some one tell me how the internet signup and then cancellation would affect the price. would they put a 100 bucks charge if you sign up but never activate the internet?

I did this with the the $299 compaq laptop at christmas time. All you had to do was bring in the print out and have them scan it.
I didn't even have to follow up with comcast to cancel my internet service.

It seems Comcast is the only one in my area currently offering the $100 off for this deal.

Internet deal or no, this is the best price I've seen on a Dell with these specs in a long time - firewire, 4 usb ports, S-video out, Express Card slot. Doesn't have Gigabit ethernet or "N" wifi, but still much better than the Compaq deals that have been in this price range lately.
