Is there any difference between a "Video Memory Card" and a non-video SDHC card?

what does difference between these "video" and the normal sdhc cards? What is the read/write speed?
Taking back my question. japaninator beat me to it.

Sounds like it should be backward compatible provided your device can handle the 4GB size.

Thanks for the link. Unfortunately it doesn't have any info. I am pretty sure some marketing guy wrote that.

These are class 4 anyway. New chips are the faster class 6. I would rather have extreme class 6 than optimized class 4.
I just emailed my MIR for the Beach Camera deal for tripple of the Sandisk SDHC 4GB for about $7 each shipped.
Good deal for anyone who doesn't want to wait for a visa card rebate for the class 6 cards.

My guess? Just marketing hype.
A digital ready tripod is.. a tripod. ("I plan on using the tripod with a Mamiya C330, so unless you have some analog-ready tripods, I'll have to shop elsewhere.")
A tactical camera bag is... a camera bag. ("I don't want to fool around with tactical. Have you any strategic camera bags?")
And don't even get me started on "mil-spec" camera straps and "Y2k ready" rechargeable batteries.
And if you come across an ad touting how well a particular SDHC card captures brilliant colors, or handles very low light levels, buy a competing brand.

Abe's of Maine . . . don't forget 2% Cash Back! I am waiting to purchase it during thanksgiving .. hoping to get it FAR during that time .. ![]()
just got this in mail, card supposed to be class 4 but I got class 2, wtf?
picture shows a class 2.
picture that was there on sunday showed class 4, I checked IE history
It absolutely showed a class 4 card the other day.
Does anyone have a saved page of this they could send me? I recieved mine today also and it was the class 2 instead of the class 4.
I received a Class 2 as well. Seems like Abe's would do this sort of thing, don't you think?
got class 2 card also!!!
i was expecting to get the sd video card 4gb, which should of been class 4
I called them today after also receiving class 2 cards. Was offered either a full refund including shipping (they would give me an rma and the refund would of course be issued after they received the cards) or an immediate $10 refund off my purchase of two cards (making it approx. $7.50 per card if I decided to keep them).
Hmm. In the other thread about the 4GB Sandisk Micro retractable USB flash drives, people reported getting a different flash drive than that which was pictured on their web site, a non-retractable drive.
Seems like this "Abe's of Maine" place does this sort of thing, does it not.
