OK, Then why didn't you post it???
You must be just a taker and NOT a giver!! SHAME SHAME ON YOU!!

I always post deals I find "hot" (you can search my posts). I just didn't think this was hot, so I didn't post it. I guess I was wrong.

Screw Buy.com....The first (and last) time I purchased from them was about 2 weeks ago. Purchased a refurb Sansa E260. Nice price, FS. First time I go to use it, it locks up. DOA. Look on the site. NO CONTACT NUMBERS. Everything through email. Won't let me check the box to get a refund because "Exchange only on opened electronics". F* that, I didn't tell them to send me a broken player. I want my money back, not another broken refurb. I have already disputed the charge with my CC

And they don't list it ANYWHERE on their website. I should not have to do a web search to find a companies phone number, period.

Does 8% off really warrant +36 green? Even ignoring the Buy.com hate / love pissing match, 8% really doesn't qualify as a "hot deal".

Yes, you are correct. I would much rather spend $1,000 on a HDTV than $920.

Thank you, OP, for putting $80 bucks in my pocket.

Some people don't consider that "hot". But if they get a BOGO for Snickers bars at Walgreen they piss their pants in joy.

I really love and hate Buy.com. This is the first electronic web site for me to know about, and gave me some free things. But later i bought something from them, they would lower their price just after a couple of days.

It works for me...but I got the email from Buy.com. It was sent to customers who haven't ordered in a while. The email says it will ONLY work if I log in with my particular account's email address, and it then lists the email address that it will work with.

I needed two of the $180 AOC/Envision 22" monitors available from Buy.com. I made two separate purchases: One with a 5%-off coupon and one with the 8%-off coupon. So the two monitors were $171 for the first order and $166 for the second order.

Read the coupons terms again. Max value of coupon is $20 only. In essence, it is optimal on purchases of upto $250 only.

It is Chargeback happy people like you that cause companys to make their terms so you cannot return and only get a replacement. I do not understand how some people are so quick to dispute a charge. The terms were available when you made your purchase(no returns). You have no right to dispute because they will not give you a refund. Their terms state that you can exchange ONLY. That is how they keep the prices low.

I didn’t get the email, so it might not work for me anyway, but anyone find any FAR software or something to use this coupon on to make a little money?

Buy.com's return policy for defective items reads in part:
"Defective products can only be returned in exchange for the exact same product, or at the sole discretion of Buy.com, the purchase price will be credited to the credit card used for the original purchase"

I can understand a company protecting itself with the phrase "at the sole discretion of," but as a customer I would expect the company to use that discretion reasonably. If a person receives a defective product, and learns that the design/build quality of the product is substandard, meaning that they wouldn't want the product even if it had worked as promised, Buy.com should respect the customer enough to allow them to just receive a refund.

I received a defective product from them, and was very clear from the beginning of my dealings with their customer service department that all I wanted was to return it and get my money back. They explained over and over that the only way to get this end result was to:
1) Return the item as defective
2) Wait to receive the replacement item
3) Return the replacement item

In the end Buy.com paid to ship this item to me twice, and paid for the return shipping twice all because they decided not to work with me in a reasonable way. Each customer service agent knew exactly what I wanted and knew that in the end I would just be receiving a refund, but still made me jump through these hoops. It wasn't just that I encountered the one bad phone rep. This was their idiotic business model at work here. I was a fan and regular customer of Buy.com until all this happened. Now I don't order from them for fear that something will go wrong and I might have to deal with their customer service, which may involve spending well over an hour on hold to actually talk with someone.

There's a reason they have a 2.41 ON RESELLER RATINGS.

I too had a rebate problem w Buy.com, but that was several years ago. I ordered an SD card w rebates. But the product arrived w/o the original package, meaning no UPC code = no rebate. I called them and some lady picked up telling me it's on the box or some other bs reason. It sounded like some small office w 2 ppl working in it.

But recently I did make a couple purchases from them and had no problem. So like the previous posters said, as long as you don't need to contact them for anything, Buy.com is OK. Not sure if that's a good thing though.

Wow, Godwin's law usually takes longer than this to be demonstrated/proven...

Except for the part where the coupon can't be more than $20.
It's really interesting to see some people posting here, giving big hurrahs, and then posting something that clearly shows their ignorance - and the fact that they didn't actually buy anything.

Interesting.

Ahh, amhidogha - missed your post.

Yah, Those might be posted by Buy.com or they hire people to do it.
