Personally, I think Acer just announced this to counter Lenov's S10 annoucement earlier in the week. |

received my acer one today and typing on it so far, im very impressed with the quality of the netbook, it feels quite solid. At $360, i'm very happy with it. If you can get it lower at $250, by all means, go and grab one. |

Why bother? Look elsewhere if you want a gaming rig. what would you recommend just for daily use? no gaming just trying to get the best performance |

Hard to imagine with it out of stock lots of place that they are reducing the price on these, about $50, There are links in the other thread, engaget and Cnet? have reported this, so I sent an Email to customer support to see if they will provide a 6 cell battery or credit toward a 6 cell battery, or some compensation. I may return it if not and wait on the 6 cell 160gb version (another 6 weeks?) With a price reduction and a lot of places OOS, there must be a lot of these in the pipe line! Perhaps others who have purchased will also Email or call CS. |

Perhaps others who have purchased will also Email or call CS. I would be concerned that any credit or refund they give you will void the original transaction, and therefore you would lose out on the original Live CashBack $48 rebate. I thought about trying to obtain a $50 refund or credit, but instead will just chalk this up to spending $50 more for the opportunity to get one of these early, while others can not find one in stock any longer, and for them it doesn't matter what the price is/was if they can not get one anyway. |

I was somewhat worried, I contacted Acer hopeing they would issue some sort of credit, they of course haven't responded, sure their busy. JR now has this in stock at $369.99, might just get a price adjustment for the $30 and roll the dice, I did upgrade shipping to 2 day and that has not screwwed the Live rebate, yet... |

Canceled this laptop order and decided to get an Asus EEE PC. I love it so far, except 6 cell battery claims 7.5 hours, expect about 4 hours. and the screen isn't as bright and clear as I'd like it to be, but for $500, I can't complain. Got in on the 2.5inch 320gb hd from Buy.com for $87 and hdcloned it for a pretty good system. Touchpad could also use a little work in my opinion, but overall, I'm happy for $500 ultraportable. |

Might reconsider the aspire one, they have anounce a 6 cell version 1gb ram 120 or 160gb HD version at $399, the screen is fine (great veiw ability side to side, less range up and down) The extended battery is/will be soon around $100 on some canada site now for preorder. Either way I would check out Simple 250gb portable HD's if you missed out at $30 closeout at BB look on eBay. I've picked up severeral for $50-55 each new sealed from people reselling them, keep checking, nothing currently less than $70 but check the history and you'll find sellers selling 5-10 at a time. Too bad you can't boot from the SD slot on the HD version, but I'll have a linux usb bootable incase the HD fails. |
