Was really hoping for a better response to this deal. Did a lot of research before submitting a deal because I wanted go gain a good reputation on FW. I noticed a lot of senior members show comparisons between this deal and other sites. The cheapest I found the phones on other sites were

7290 - $74.98 plus S&H on Bigcitydirect.com

8800 - $399.99 directly from AT&T

Your first link doesn't work, which probably doesn't help matters. Other than that, I'm not familiar with these phones enough to recognize whether these are truly good deals. Thanks for your effort though.. sucks when people don't appreciate or notice.. been there. Here's a pat on the back for you!

I would put this is a warm deal, not hot. The 8800 is an older version, the 8820 is the relatively newer one but still a year old. Given that new unlocked 8820 units can be found on CL for $300 or less, I will not pay $250 for a refurbished 8800.

What is the CL you are referring to?

A refurbished 7290 can be had here for $45 plus shipping. Bought one from them a while back and it's still working strong! They also have an 8100 for $200.

In my old company, I had a drawer full of problematic 7290, these were upgrades to 7230 that users beg us to give them back due to problems w/ it. 6230/7230 were solid and everything else after 7290.

Buying a 7290 is like buying a paperweight waiting to happen.
