It is one of the new 24" TN panels, not a dumbed down version of the other 24". Cheap, low response time is good for gaming and watching videos but not ideal for editing images. The key phrase is "not ideal"... I did not say "not usable". You may find the gamma/color shifts as your look to the right/left up and down acceptable.

it's a high gamut monitor so it looks highly oversaturated for daily use.
i use it for image editing- it works fine- no one shifts their viewing that much to have the color shifts when sitting in front of the monitor.
Reasonable people may disagree on this point. I've got a TN 20" Samsung LCD monitor and for months I was driven to distraction by the softening/fading corners of the screen as seen from dead center. I've learned to accept it, but still find it obnoxious and disappointing, nevertheless. Give me the same effect, but now on a larger 24"?? Sure to be even worse.. I wouldn't be able to deal with it! Can't wait for sub-32" plasma to come. not to mention the other superior display tech which hopefully will be coming down enough in price within a few years).
Nevertheless, good deal here for people who don't mind this deficiency.
I bought this monitor for $360 a few months ago at Costco to replace a 20" Ultrasharp that went bad.
The TN panel on this is not bad at all, and while it does have the gamma shift that all TN screens do, it is VERY minor compared to some others that I have seen. I was very surprised how favorably it compared to my old screen, and I would absolutely recommend this monitor to others.
not sure what version or pannely I got but I had a few of these a few months back.
and I think the image really sucks.
my older 1800fp and 2001fp looks way bettter. even though they ware like 4 years old and have higher response time.
I don't know how to explain it it just "doesn't look as good" I tried dvi and analog signals.
they are all resells anyway.
I had oone guy return it back to me for the same reason/opinion. but at $290 it's a good price.
jsut don't expect to pay hundai price for BMW quality.
any coupon codes or coupons floating around?
got one, thanks!
the return policy doesn't say anything about open monitors so i will see if the quality is as bad as some sites say
this is 19x10 res, oppose to 19x12 on many others. Black bar when displaying video is expected

Is it a typo on Bestbuy's part? Everywhere says the E248WFP is 1920x1200

I'm using this monitor right now, it's 1920x1200.
I am using the monitor right now, I just got it. On the box it says 1920 X 1200 and I am using it at that level currently. This is a mistake on BestBuys part. A good one for once.
Again....1920 X 1200 HAS BEEN CONFIRMED ON THIS LCD.
the 10% coupon can be used, the one you get from the post office. Im sure there are threads on this. It maybe a YMMV.
Coupon works with the original price... 449.99. Not the best deal. ![]()
Are you sure the 10% coupon can be used? I showed up with one I found online (similar to this one), and it didn't mention applying to Computer Monitors. Sure enough, the coupon rang up for -$0.00 at the register. Is the current USPS Mover coupon different?

I thought all 24" panels were 1920x1200?
