The Circuit City website has seasons 1, 3, 4 and 5 of The Shield for 19.99$ each (season 2 is still 35$).

Note that this week's circular for CC B&M mentioned only season 5 for 20$, though there was a footnote about "other seasons".

Best...show...EVER! Only DVD which I buy first, ask questions later. Unfortunately I got all these seasons...already pre-ordered Season 6.

I'm waiting for the Best Of Ronnie Gardocki DVD set.

Seriously, if I didn't already have these, I would buy all of them in a second.

I bought 4 and 5 for 25$ each two weeks ago but I'm still going through series 3, going to CC for a price match tomorrow.

I wish they wouldn't be cutting it off at 7 seasons but all good things come to an end.

Awesome show!! Any cool special features on the disc?

Usual stuff like deleted scenes, commentary, etc. Full subtitles too which is great (especially since it makes following the Spanish easier).

My main beef with these DVDs is that they have the original stereo mix, not 5.1 (not sure one was ever created). This is a show whose target audience was probably the kind of guys who'd have a decent home theater setup. With enough action sequences and music, running at Dolby is inexcusable.

A second beef is that the DVD cases are kind of flaky and the little teeth that hold the DVDs often already come missing out of the box. Seriously, I've seen my first DVD with that problem in 2000, shouldn't publishers figure this one out already?

I'm so excited for the new season!

LUV it! First thing in the morning for sure.
Wish they'd put HOUSE in a deal like this. And the Sopranos.

Really good deal on a good show, but $20 pays for a month of NetFlix or blockbuster rental service. These are always available. Unless you plan on rewatching them or viewing the special features you might save some money just using the rental service.

I would hope the point of BUYING a dvd is so you watch it again and again. I have since continued a tradition of rewatching the previous season before a new dvd season comes out, so I'll be watching season 5 over again soon. I've watched the 1st few seasons at least 3 times each...most definitely worth the money for me to buy it.

I understand the point of buying is so you can watch it over and over again. I'm just questioning how many people watch and/or have time to make the investment of purchasing worthwhile. If you are purchasing this is a good deal, but maybe prior to purchasing you could save yourself a little more $$ by considering is purchasing for me?

Another option is to sell it on eBay to make back some of your money too, if you don't plan on watching it again.

Best show on TV in the last 5 years...NO QUESTION.

Does anyone know the date of the start of the new season?

Wouldn't that be true for most DVDs ? I can get most movies and video games for a couple of days cheaper.

I would hope that most people do this anyway, so it's not worth mentioning. Otherwise, we'll all have every bottom bargain show in the world. People who read this deal are probably interested in buying DVDs.

I have to say though, that episode download is not for everyone, at least now. I have five computers, a media center PC, and yet I like the simplicity and convenience of just shoving in the DVD or taking it to the inlaws to watch there. I also prefer that to NetFlix since I can watch the series over time (e.g., I watch the shield with my father-in-law so we watch a few episodes every few weekends).

In the future, I would not be surprised if digital downloads take over.

Hey, no spoilers, I'm still on season 3

I was sad to hear series is going to be over.

I saw the first season before I moved to the US, and then didn't get to follow up since I didn't have cable; I've only recently picked up and love every moment.
