If anyone is in the market for a new gas powered lawn mower this deal seems to be a real steal!
In my local WalMart store the same item currently retails at $238 + tax so the mower is nearly half price and has a 2 year warranty too!

Thanks. Ordered one.

Showing up as $99 at the moment.

Reviews are pretty horrible, but it's probably decent enough for $99.

Ordered one. $99 plus tax and delivery. Total $132.**

$25+ shipping negs it for me just now. I wonder if we could buy it for in store pick up.

Update -- I see that it is in stock at my Wal Mart -- might go over ther later to check it out.

Price looks good -- not sure of the quality.

My present lawn mower is now 31 years old this summer & still going good. Have made a few parts replacements -- new rear bag, two new sets of rear wheels, new mechanical throttle linkage. The wheels I scavenged from an old spreader and now from another old lawn mower.

So if I buy this one I'd want it to last approx 30 years just like the present one. Maybe I should just stick with my present lawn mower and see if I can get another 31 years out of it.

Call me cheap --- I prefer to think of it as being thrifty.

...I'm pretty sure this is a Decepticon mower.

Just went to WM to buy one (it shows in stock on the website). WM employee said she had 3 calls about it already. Doesn't know anything about discount price. The mower scans at $238... She took my printout and said she will tt her manager, but said price might be different online.

Yep, I called 4 Walmarts to see if in stock and verify price. None of them knew of any price discount and all said price should be same as online. I may buy online and pay the $26 shipping, who knows, maybe it is a price mistake??

Also, there isn't a pickup at store option for this mower either.

Just for info guys & gals, WalMart.com is a totally separate entity to WalMart and as such WalMart stores will not price match their online counterparts. I know this for a fact because I already asked prior to my purchase.
All said and done even at $26 shipping and $9 tax it is still a good buy in my humble opinion!

Well it's OOS on-line - that sure was a good price. Reviews are awful, which isn't a good sign.

*** EDIT - I stand corrected - it is in stock one line now... just ordered one for $134.15 to my door. Why it showed out of stock when I first checked just before this post? Who knows - but it did. FWIW I placed my order at 8:20 AM EDT) ***

I bought one of these not long ago, and it's reviews aren't glowing either - but so far so good. The China special engine is smooth and quiet (but hard to start - 2 pulls my rear-end!), and it's easy to handle... I often don't even engage the drive. But I look at those bad reviews and wonder if it will croak at the 91 day point.

Anyone see any decent clearance prices on better brand mowers at Lowes/HD or the like??? I don't mind an MTD product - I have had good luck with the brand (can't say that for Briggs engines), but I donno about this one.

Thanks OP, I ordered one.

My old model's wheels busted and they were $25 each....

Now I have a new one with a 2-year warranty for $135ish.

The review of the electric start model is pretty good, same model except for the electric vs. pull start and a little bit bigger engine, makes you wonder...

Green for OP. I was just looking for one for my new house. I read the reviews and the one reviewer obviously doesn't know what a self propelled mower is and if the back wheels break off, I'll just buy new ones and still be ahead of the game. You want to see bad reviewes, go check out Sears.com and look at their Craftsmans. At least the only big concern with these is the wheels. The Craftsman keep cutting out. Thanks again!

Please find me another mower with Briggs & Stratton, self propelled, option of bag, side discharge, or mulching for under $150 and then I will agree with you. I have been searching high and low and even factoring in the shipping its still a steal.
