I guess people just give a rating without verifying what posted really works... And the card is not even for 49.99 AR - I see it for 59.55AR

I don't know the person that gave me green. I was going to post that other deal but I guess I just spoonfed someone a free t-shirt. /shrugs/

I don't know where you live but could that be sales tax? The promo code works fine for me.

worked for me. in for 1. thanks op

ship to CA, $89.99 + $5.77 tax - $20 instant - $20 rebate = $55.76 AR

No offense to the OP. Green for you! I applaud anyone who shares a deal on this forum. $50 8600GT is a hot deal.
BUT
There is a $60 after rebate deal on the HD 3850 if you search on here. Much better card (over double the score in 3DMark06) HOWEVER its going in and out of stock so its an iffy deal.

even better for me! $89.99 + $0 tax - $20 Instant - $20 MIR - $4.95 live CashBack - $5 PG rebate = $40 (not to mention I get 2x bonus points on all AMEX purchases till Aug 31st).

Thanks a lot OP!

I owned this card's "factory overclocked" version for 6 months. I recently bought an EVGA 8800GS for ~73 AR from Newegg from a deal posted here. This deal has reappeared multiple times over the past month, each time at a successively cheaper price.

The 8600GT had significantly less power consumption requirements. It also worked in my old VIA chipset motherboard (the newer 8800GT-ish cards have problems with older VIA motherboards).

My 8600GT was very loud. I could hear my computer from another room. XFX appears to save money by equipping their cards with 2-wire, non-adjustable fans. It was loud at a particularly annoying pitch - a more white noise shhhh instead of the hummmm of my other fans. My new EVGA card has user-adjustable speed.

This 8600GT is now older technology. It would run the COD4 demo at 800x600/2x AA at a reasonable frame-rate. The 8800GS is running 1024x768/4x AA at a smooth rate. If you game and have a power supply that can handle it, I suggest spending the $15-20 extra to buy a card that will play another generation of games.

I ordered this but after reading 3850 post thought I will look for it but I cannot find that, however the performance of 8600GT is lower than 3650 which I got for lower price. Any way to cancel Newegg order, it is not yet shipped but charged.

don't forget PG $5 rebate!
