Ohhhh the excitement. You folks coming on here getting giddy about this deal need to get your heads checked (and your waistbands)Just checked my look in the mirror. I want to change my clothes, my hair, my gorging face! The mirror said I'm all of 5'11", 160lbs. Look out pasta; I should be able to put away 1/2 to 3/4 of a bowl!! Oh, and you need to lighten up, Francis! |

No offense, but most US portions are already "never ending". In a country full of obesity, this is almost sickening. |

Buying pasta at restaurants is the biggest damn ripoff there is. You are paying them for the opportunity to be served 50¢ worth of pasta and sauce for $9.00. Olive Garden doesn't dip their pasta in magic. It's just plain boiled up pasta. I can buy a couple of boxes of pasta and 3-4 types of sauces for $8.95 at the grocery store. It's just as good if not better and I don't have to pay for drinks, tax and tip. At Home $3.95 - Trader Joes 3(.95) buck chuck Cabernet $0.75 - Box of Pasta $2.00 - fresh ground beef (or other meat) for sauce $2.00 - Jar of pasta sauce $1.50 - fresh grated parm from your local grocer's cheese shop $5.00 - some desert (pastries / ice cream) $1.00 - candles $5.00 - bin of organic salad mix at Costco $3.00 - bottle of salad dressing $2.00 - fresh loaf of french bread --------------- Total - $26.20 for an all-you-can-eat meal for two Olive Garden $8.95 x 2 people $24.00 bottle of wine $12.00 desert ---------------- Subtotal $53.90 + 6% tax $3.25 + 18% tip $9.70 ---------------- Total - $66.85 That's almost 255% more to pay for a chain restaurant experience!

GET A LIFE AND MOVE ON!!! Well...MY intent is not to thread crap OR to be the "food police" (although many people will see it that way)... but, while this is a good deal (props to the OP)...as people in this thread have mentioned, this is one of many reasons that people in our country are fat slobs! It sounds great...pay one price...go in and stuff your face until they have to roll you out of the restaurant. But, think about it! That's the mentality of people that look for the "all you can eat"... to get your money's worth. I'm guilty of it, too. But, I've gotten to the point, where I realize it's better to stay away from these "all you can eat" deals...which is similar to the Super Size at fast food restaurants.
Just my 2 cents! Climbing down off my soapbox now...which I didn't crush because I've stayed away from these deals!! To those who can't resist....eat up!! |

It's a special, but is it really a deal. If they gave away massive amounts of cyanide for free at a restaurant would that be a deal? You are essentially shortening your life span with this so i don't know how much of a deal this is. |

That's almost 255% more to pay for a chain restaurant experience! Nice how you add a bottle of wine and dessert. Since you're adding a bunch of irrevelant items, why not add electricity, water, gas, the cost of the TV you will be watching while eating? Here is my new calculation: At Home $3.95 - Trader Joes 3(.95) buck chuck Cabernet $0.75 - Box of Pasta $2.00 - fresh ground beef (or other meat) for sauce $2.00 - Jar of pasta sauce $1.50 - fresh grated parm from your local grocer's cheese shop $5.00 - some desert (pastries / ice cream) $1.00 - candles $5.00 - bin of organic salad mix at Costco $3.00 - bottle of salad dressing $2.00 - fresh loaf of french bread $5.00 - electricity for the refrigirator to keep your ground beef cold, air conditioner and/or fan to keep you cool during the heat. $3.00 - gas for your stove. $1.00 - water for cooking pasta $1000 - LCD TV you will be watching while you stuff yourself $50 - Cable TV subscription for a month --------------- NEW Total - $1085.20 for an all-you-can-eat meal for two HOLY CRAP, that's $1600% more than the restaurant experience!!! |

We are responsible for our own actions. Some of us can enjoy this and still be responsible. Until OG holds a gun to your head talking you to eat another bowl of pasta, it isn't there fault. What next, close every bar because that is the reason people drive drunk... Maybe we can all were staight jackets and put padding on every wall to protect us... |

This is why while I like movies like "Super Size Me" for the factual information, I see it merely as propaganda. Nobody is FORCING anybody to eat. They are fat due to their lack of discipline to stop. |

Don't get me wrong...I'm totally with you that all people are responsible for their actions...including stuffing their faces with food. The same with alcohol...but, some bartenders do the responsible thing...and cut people off when they've obviously had too much. I'm not really blaming the restaurant(s)...I just noted that these deals are right up a "fat slobs'" alley!! Where I "blame" a restaurant is in them "enabling" and encouraging eating as much food as you can...for one low price. There is a fine line between a good deal on food and promoting gluttony.
