I am at olive garden as we speak and they said they just started this up today again. It is usually nationwide so give your local OG a call.

$8.95 for unlimited pasta of your choice. 6 types of sauces, and 6 types of pastas.

Salad/soup and breadsticks included!

I am in WA . This deal I have it .I donot know about other area .

good deal op we love og

Didn't this go up a $1 since last time?

nitesbane said: Didn't this go up a $1 since last time?
No.

green for the effort of posting this from your seat at the olive garden despite your date/friend/family telling you to put the phone down

this was 5.95 in fall of 2000. No deal here. We have watched it go up $1 every other year. or more frequent that that.

Mind of the "OG" Server

I laugh every time i read this.

Keep in mind it was 7.95 then.

One more OG experience....

Wife decided to take one for the team and order the Unlimited Pasta Bowl....which we keep ordering refills for the whole table until they caught on and cut us off . haha

Just another "OG" Pasta Bowl Night

I hate this place

The bowls they use for this deal are extremely small, and it takes them 30 minutes to bring your next out (at least in my experience). I'd rather pay a few extra bucks for a good bowl of Penne Rustica over at Macaroni Grill.

Love OG! Thanks for the notice.

Perfect timing! I'm about to be in a marathon; a marathon of eating, that is.

Do we thing inflation is a myth??

Since that time, gas has tripled, Cigarettes have nearly tripled, many common consumer Staples (milk, eggs, etc..) have nearly doubled, energy costs are up over 30% - food costs are up at least 30% and going higher --

Real inflation (not the phony govt numbers) has logged 50% at least since then. That's not even figuring in the massive run up in housing prices for huge parts of the country (even after figuring in the recent crash)

So based on the numbers, 9 bucks is about right.

Not that anyone without the goal of obtaining obesity needs to be eating unlimited pasta and bread.
Gorging on simple carbs spikes blood sugar, thus contributing to quick weight gain and a much higher likelihood of diabetes.

http://diabetesupdate.blogspot.com/2008/07/massive-long-term-study-sheds-more.html

So, this is definitely not a hot deal - it's priced appropriately, and is terrible for the body to stuff your face with cheap carbs.

Thanks OP!! Love it when they run this. To the person who said they take forever to bring out subsequent bowls, I usually order mine when I'm 50-60% done with my current bowl so it comes out not too long after I'm finished. Hope this helps!

Another happy fat boy (or girl). Hey why not eat 5 or 6 bowls, you'll get your money's worth and pack in a few thousand calories in one sitting.

Ohhhh the excitement. You folks coming on here getting giddy about this deal need to get your heads checked (and your waistbands)

Thanx OP

Shoot.. 2000.. That's already 8 1/2 years ago of never ending pasta. No wonder I feel so fat!

Just checked my look in the mirror. I want to change my clothes, my hair, my gorging face!

The mirror said I'm all of 5'11", 160lbs. Look out pasta; I should be able to put away 1/2 to 3/4 of a bowl!!

Oh, and you need to lighten up, Francis!

We now live in a post 9/11 world though so everything is more expensive.

Have you heard of a word 'inflation'???
Today's $9 is about the same as $6 eight years ago.

Classy... Did you feel yourself getting hard as you wrote that?

No offense, but most US portions are already "never ending". In a country full of obesity, this is almost sickening.

somehow i think these thread crappers are just jealous, maybe because they dont have a og nearby lol.

this forum is for hot deals, not how healthy/unhealthy the deal is. if this keeps up people are gonna start complaining at cheap bluetooth phone/laptop/adapters because its bad for the brain...chillax

right. and in the fall of 2000, you made how much? how much was gas again?

I am so sick of the food police that have to put in their unwanted opinion on every food thread.

GET A LIFE AND MOVE ON!!!

Do they have wireless now? You are typing while you're eating pasta?

I love all you can eat! Time to carbo-load! Haters, go to Mr. Pita's or something!

Buying pasta at restaurants is the biggest damn ripoff there is. You are paying them for the opportunity to be served 50¢ worth of pasta and sauce for $9.00.

Olive Garden doesn't dip their pasta in magic. It's just plain boiled up pasta. I can buy a couple of boxes of pasta and 3-4 types of sauces for $8.95 at the grocery store. It's just as good if not better and I don't have to pay for drinks, tax and tip.

At Home
$3.95 - Trader Joes 3(.95) buck chuck Cabernet
$0.75 - Box of Pasta
$2.00 - fresh ground beef (or other meat) for sauce
$2.00 - Jar of pasta sauce
$1.50 - fresh grated parm from your local grocer's cheese shop
$5.00 - some desert (pastries / ice cream)
$1.00 - candles
$5.00 - bin of organic salad mix at Costco
$3.00 - bottle of salad dressing
$2.00 - fresh loaf of french bread
---------------
Total - $26.20 for an all-you-can-eat meal for two

Olive Garden
$8.95 x 2 people
$24.00 bottle of wine
$12.00 desert
----------------
Subtotal $53.90
+ 6% tax $3.25
+ 18% tip $9.70
----------------
Total - $66.85

That's almost 255% more to pay for a chain restaurant experience!

Well...MY intent is not to thread crap OR to be the "food police" (although many people will see it that way)...
but, while this is a good deal (props to the OP)...as people in this thread have mentioned, this is one of many reasons
that people in our country are fat slobs! It sounds great...pay one price...go in and stuff your face until they have
to roll you out of the restaurant. But, think about it! That's the mentality of people that look for the "all you can eat"...
to get your money's worth. I'm guilty of it, too. But, I've gotten to the point, where I realize it's better to stay
away from these "all you can eat" deals...which is similar to the Super Size at fast food restaurants.

Just my 2 cents! Climbing down off my soapbox now...which I didn't crush because I've stayed away from these deals!!

To those who can't resist....eat up!!

everything rose in price, this being a deal however i don't know. It's a special, but is it really a deal.
If they gave away massive amounts of cyanide for free at a restaurant would that be a deal? You are essentially shortening your life span with this so i don't know how much of a deal this is.

I can put down at least three bowls, and I have single digit body fat. You DO know there are people who work out and have high metabolisms right? And yes, I am giddy about this deal

Nice how you add a bottle of wine and dessert. Since you're adding a bunch of irrevelant items, why not add electricity, water, gas, the cost of the TV you will be watching while eating? Here is my new calculation:

At Home
$3.95 - Trader Joes 3(.95) buck chuck Cabernet
$0.75 - Box of Pasta
$2.00 - fresh ground beef (or other meat) for sauce
$2.00 - Jar of pasta sauce

$1.00 - candles
$5.00 - bin of organic salad mix at Costco
$3.00 - bottle of salad dressing
$2.00 - fresh loaf of french bread

$5.00 - electricity for the refrigirator to keep your ground beef cold, air conditioner and/or fan to keep you cool during the heat.
$3.00 - gas for your stove.
$1.00 - water for cooking pasta
$1000 - LCD TV you will be watching while you stuff yourself
$50 - Cable TV subscription for a month
---------------
NEW Total - $1085.20 for an all-you-can-eat meal for two

HOLY CRAP, that's $1600% more than the restaurant experience!!!

People are not fat slobs because OG has the Never Ending Pasta Bowl or McDonald's super sizes things. People are fat slobs because they choose to be. It's called personal responsibility. We are responsible for our own actions. Some of us can enjoy this and still be responsible. Until OG holds a gun to your head talking you to eat another bowl of pasta, it isn't there fault. What next, close every bar because that is the reason people drive drunk... Maybe we can all were staight jackets and put padding on every wall to protect us...

Couldn't have said it better myself. This is why while I like movies like "Super Size Me" for the factual information, I see it merely as propaganda. Nobody is FORCING anybody to eat. They are fat due to their lack of discipline to stop.

Don't get me wrong...I'm totally with you that all people are responsible for their actions...including stuffing their faces with food.
The same with alcohol...but, some bartenders do the responsible thing...and cut people off when they've obviously had too much.
I'm not really blaming the restaurant(s)...I just noted that these deals are right up a "fat slobs'" alley!!
Where I "blame" a restaurant is in them "enabling" and encouraging eating as much food as you can...for one low price.
There is a fine line between a good deal on food and promoting gluttony.

I went about 2 months ago and got the never ending pasta plus the italian sausage for something like an extra $1.89. You are supposed to get 2 sausages for first pasta, and a single sausage for each pasta after.

I got 2 pastas, then got a pasta to go (waitress knew i was doing that too) and she gave me 2 sausages for each pasta bowl as well. Great service brought a better tip to her, of course.
