Side Note on Price
This product has been posted a couple times before on FatWallet at higher prices and were ranked as "hot" every single time. This is by far the cheapest I have seen this item posted at FatWallet, so I hope no one sees this thread as spam (getting tired of people bashing me for my recent deal posts, sorry; I've been posting for years and am not just posting now because of the T-shirt promotion).

Enjoy!

I certainly don't see it as spam, and I would have even considered it a great deal, except for the $109.99 blow-out Dell had on this very same drive just a few days ago. True, the final fallout from that deal--in which Dell rec'd an avalanche of orders until they pulled the listing on Sunday--is yet to be known. Some people had their drives shipped yesterday, others have gotten cancellation notices, most orders are scheduled for shipping today.

I do not believe Dell had a "Blowout" sale. The coupon was proably incorrectly applied to this drive. At the order screen, it stated it was for cameras. So except for the incorrect price at Dell, this is great deal. I did order with Dell, have to wait to see if those ship first.

Thanks OP.

damn it! I just order this from ZZF last week for $150. Anyone know if they price match?

Are bigger HD's on the horizon or something?

i got this when it was $10 more =( any chance they will pricematch?

My order from Dell is suppose to ship today - I'll update when I get a response.

wow...1.5TB is only $215...that was the price point for the 1TB a few months ago!!
1.5TB link

2 TB drives are scheduled for next year.

1.5TB link

You wont get it at $215 it shows status as on order they don't even have them. Lowest price I can find with it in stock is 276.99 Linked here. I am sure it will not be long before they are at that price point though. I will be happy once 1TB is at $100 price.

I had placed an order yday, talked to Customer service and they said cancel the order and place again to get the lower price as the order is in processing status, so did just that.

Definitely the correct perception, given that Dell sent out waves of order cancellations today.

I complained, got nowhere. They won't budge on the price drops. I was pretty disappointed.

I did as well.

Not gonna lie, I'm pretty ticked about it.
Dear Customer,

Thank you for contacting ZipZoomfly.com!

We regret to inform you that our company does not offer price matching or price adjustments.

http://www.ZipZoomfly.com/jsp/Service/PriceAdjust.jsp

Due to market volatility, prices are subject to change quite frequently. As a result, our company will update our prices in accordance to the market value. We do apologize for this and if you have any further questions, feel free to email us back or contact us by phone at 510.897.1890.

Sincerely,
ZipZoomfly

My response:

Hello,

I understand market volatility and drastically fluctuating prices over time. I understand price changes over a few months, even 30 days. This is an issue of 5 days and an item that has not yet even been received. I assumed customer satisfaction was important to ZipZoomfly, and in my many years of purchases (which started when the company was named GoogleGear) that had appeared evident.

I'm sorry to see that this is no longer the case. "http://www.ZipZoomfly.com/jsp/Service/PriceAdjust.jsp" cites "confidence in competitiveness of prices" as the reason for a lack of price matching. It would seem that "market volatility" contradicts that.

Your loyal customer,

ZipZoomfly can be a pain with a DOA Harddrive. I just dealt with that and they will make you pay shipping atleast one way (return or replacement), if not both. Plus they also try to charge a restocking fee for a broken drive! They stuck me with double shipping and wouldn't do anything about it.

Grabbed 2 of these this morning. Thanks.

Any good deals on Network Storage Systems out their?

Is Linksys NAS200 Network Attached Storage System w/2 Bays Retail a good system/buy?

I just got my shipment of 500GB 7200.11 drives from Dell, $60 ea no rebate. 1TB HDs are still overpriced.

I can't find one for $60 at d3ll.
Do you have a link?

Price is currently 124.99 + shipping.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I am updating the thread appropriately.

Edit: Cheapest shipping was approximately $7 for me (to Northern California). Is this the same for other locations?

I picked up two, shipping was only 8.45

Before I PULL the trigger, how are the drives? Reviews on Newegg($139.99 w/shipping and nippon sata cable) report that alot of them are DOA.

Remember boys and girls, get a few bucks back via MS Livecash (2% I do believe from ZZF).

Newegg reviewers seem to indicate that the longevity of the drive is dependent on where they are manufactured. Make sure whomever you buy from has good replacement program.
