Depends on what you are doing with it. If you are using XP at 1280 x 1024 then don't bother with an upgrade, but if you are using Vista at 1900x1200 then you will see a difference.

lol. An X1950XTX will run Vista at 1900x1200 exactly the same as an HD4870 would. The only difference would be in gaming performance, in which case the HD4870 destroys the X1950XTX at any resolution and in DX10 mode at that.
