I called ATT high speed internet customer service and requested to match for comcast $19.99 internet deal. The CSR very politely gave me two options,
1. $5 off on the current plan for 1 year.
2. one level bandwidth upgrade for the same price as current plan for 1 year.

Also he gave me $25 Cash Back.

I decided to have bandwidth upgrade option. Now I will be paying $25 for 3 Mbps download for 1 year.

I called in yesterday because some tech problem. The CSR offered me a upgrade from PRO to Elite for 17.5/month for 6 months; in addition, she also told me that I can call in 5 months later to renew the offer.

I called and just got the same offer as above, Elite service @ $17.50 for 6 months with no contract. Thanks

called retentions, had pro with landline, mentioned comcast had the $19.99 promo and 1 years rate was "~$30" for 6mbits. he said he could match and get me the elite for $5 off for a year. so i get double the speed for the same price. that was enough for me but he threw in 1 month free also.

hijack784 said:what dept did you guys speak to? i was offered no promotion, just $20 CashBack for upgrading to the elite for $35.

I just called the regular AT&T number from my bill. I asked the rep if they had any offers that would match my local cable company price for 6Mbps internet. The rep said they didn't have access to that, but transferred me to retentions dept. Repeated that to the retentions rep and was offered the $17.50 / 6 mo elite package.

I was offered Elite for $30/mo for 1 year. I took it since I have express right now @ $25/mo. 4 times the speed for only $5 a month more. I think the pro and elite and new offerings for my area. They just upgraded the hardware for uverse.

I called them and in the beginning they offered me $30 for Elite. And I told them my frd was offered $17.50 for trying Elite for 6 months. But Elite is not available in my area.

I mentioned my local cable company offers a much faster speed for 5 bucks more. So they connected me to another department which offered me $15 for 3Mbps (max speed for my area) for 6 months. I am happy as I am paying $25 for 1.5Mbsp. I will call them again after 6 months.

Thanks.

Maybe not that many people know this...I just found today that any DSL package (dry loop or not) at or above Express package includes FREE ATT wifi, so u can surf the web for free in Starbucks or anywhere that have attwifi. This alone already worths the money.

I was offered Pro for $15.00/month for 6 months. Then it jumps back to its normal price at which I will call and try again!

Same here. I was paying $25/month for Express. After calling, they switched me to Pro for half the price $15 for six months. Thanks OP.

No go in CT! Or at least not such a good deal! I was offered a $5 Starbucks card and $20 Pre-Paid Credit Card to upgrade from Basic to Express! ($19.95 to $25.00)!

I also called yesterday also concerning the price increase. I was looking at the prices for DSL extreme and they seem more than competitive! However, I will give it another go with the retentions for a price match. At 25 to 30$, cable internet is better speeds/dollar for us here in the bay area.

I called twice. The first person was very rude, and essentially told me to switch to Comcast if I wanted but DSL was far superior. (I am on the $19.99 Basic DSL Plan)

Decided to call 5 minutes later and explained very calmly how I couldn't afford "not to switch." Didn't threaten to cancel or anything like that. I was offered 6 mo. of Pro Service at $15. No Contract. I took it and was thanked profusely for staying a customer and for giving SBC the chance to offer me something to stay with them.
