my sister bought herself a copy from her university last year (office professional 2007) - it was the full version with everything - she just bought a new laptop (she has office on her desktop) - can she use that same disc she had earlier for her laptop as well and fall within her license rights? or should she purchase a new copy (this) to be legally compliant?

thanks

Please tell me more - Is there is link?

Thanks

Amaz0n has it for $80.49 delivered: Linky-Poo You can find threads here on FW from time time, like this one where it is on sale at Newyegg or d3ll.

The info on the product is here on the Microsoft page and under the FAQ section:

Can I install Office Home and Student 2007 on more than one device?

Yes, if you have purchased a retail license of Office Home and Student 2007. The retail license terms permit installation and use of Office Home and Student 2007 on three devices.

We purchased the 2003 version of this and installed it on the PCs of 2 of the kids and on the "family" PC. One son now wants / needs Publisher and perhaps Access so I am looking at this electronic version of ultimate or getting the pro version with his student ID.

I bought this a while back... and can't find my DLed version... and can't order the disk... anyone know of a way around it?

DL the trial version and use your key to unlock it.

I don't see School of Hard Knocks on the list... and I haven't looked much like the 'me' on my last student ID in quite a few years

Do I need to enroll in a pottery class at the local community college?

The Home and Student retail edition has no expiration date. There is a version that where you pay for a 1 year license and have to pay again each year, but you always get to run the latest version. That is NOT a good deal since new versions are not out every year or even every couple of years.

I would like to thank the op and everyone here. I got this on the 20th and have used it almost everyday. Every class I have this semester is asking for some type of presentation. Not to mention a few prof. will only except homework as attachment emails and will only except word. so thank you very much.

(1) PDF in presentation mode works great, provided your professor has enough intelligence to realize that sound and fly-outs do not contribute to the content.
(2) That's why OpenOffice can save in .doc format.

Not to say it's not a decent deal, though may have suggested ignoring this release and hoping they screw up the next version a little less. I'm holding at 2003 for now.

The product also has a spell-check feature. Make sure you turn it on.

I just got the retail version because a class I'm taking required Word 2007, but we have had the 2003 disks since it was released and I swear I've installed it on at least 8 computers over the years with no problems as we have upgraded and added to our laptop collection. I wonder if 2007 will work the same

Thanks OP!

for those of you majoring in engineering, math, & science field, i find the 2007's equation editor for word much better than the previous one. i highly recommend this if you frequently write lab reports with complex equations.
