It is hard to say when it expires. Sometimes will come up for a few days then go away to create some buzz.
I talked to a Microsoft Rep today and this is in fact a full verison as if you would go to BB and buy it for retail pricing. It will not expire with X amount of uses.
He suggests to Burn the dowload on a disc for reloading purposes and that you can also buy the disc for an additional 13$
site said:Microsoft or an appointed vendor may contact you to verify that you are a current student. If documentation is not provided indicating that you are a current student, you will be liable to reimburse Microsoft for the difference between what you paid and the estimated retail price of the software. So has anyone ever actually been contacted by MS? I work at a University (not a student) and have a university email address.
I would recommend using Office 2003 over Office 2007. The interface for 2007 changed to something they thought would enhance user friendliness but actually made it more cumbersome. However, to be fair, there were some features that were added that I found useful in the time I used it. Even with the improvements I still chose to downgrade.
How much extra is it if you want the media sent? It does not look like they show you this price until after you have done the rest of the order and used your e-mail address, etc.
Are they charging sales tax to some or all or is this like the Uni book store and is tax free?
FWW, with a valid student ID you can get Office Pro 2007 Academic for around $80-85 delivered in retail packaging. It includes:
Access 2007 Accounting Express 2008 Excel 2007 Outlook 2007 with Business Contact Manager PowerPoint 2007 Publisher 2007 Word 2007
Office Ultimate is:
Access 2007 Accounting Express 2008 Excel 2007 InfoPath 2007 Groove 2007 OneNote 2007 Outlook 2007 with Business Contact Manager PowerPoint 2007 Publisher 2007 Word 2007
So depending on if you want the actual media and its cost, taxes, and if you need or don't need Groove, OneNote, and InfoPath you might think about Office Pro 2007 academic.

The change to the UI takes some getting used to but using the new Excel is a common complaint. One of my co-workers got so frustrated trying to help someone do something in Excel 2007 they finally just went to someone's machine with an older version of Office on it and did the work there .
I should also mention that if you can live with just word, excel, power point, and one note you can get "Office Home and Student 2007" for $75-85 delivered and legally install it on THREE PCs. No student ID or student e-mail required.

As a student, having OneNote makes this deal. FWIW, I purchased from the this site last year. It's the full deal. I have it installed on my desktop and my laptop, and use it regularly for my classes. This was a great deal for me because my campus does not offer discounts on software. Before buying, you might double check with your school to see if they offer special student pricing.
