Free upgrade to 2009 version, according to Frys.com
Hmm, my 7.0 license key is about to expire. I know I did an upgrade rebate before but I wonder if this specific limited time rebate would still be valid to pick up another 7.0 and use the license key to renew it?
Wish they'd just release the 2009 version and have a FAR offer for it to make sure I qualify.
thanks. been waiting on a FAR AV
Does it still mess up with Vista? One year ago, it made me reinstall my Vista and it was a huge headache...
kaspersky used to be notorious for invalidating all rebates.
not sure how it is now.

You can pick up another one for sure. This $55 is not a upgrade rebate, and only good between 8/20 to 8/28 at Frys.

I've been using it with Vista with no problems - I think version 7.
In for one!
Anyone of them for free do support Windows 2000 server? Thx
ESET smart security is a much better product, blows Kaspersky out of the water. FAR products to protect my PC and personal info, No thanks. Nod32 has some deals right now I believe - there are other sources of really good free "deals" on ESET products. Antivir and AVG are both free, and basically just as good as Kaspersky for just antivirus.
+100 for Avast, the free AV
When Frys had this same deal 2 weeks ago the promo code was #4000376. This time its #4000391 so you can do it again. I mailed #4000376 out on Aug 9 and received confirmation/rebate approved yesterday. 10 days from my mail box to approved is pretty good, now just have to wait 8-9 weeks for the check.
not bad. However, they still don't get rid of the notorious iswift/ichecker crap. In for 1 anyway, thanks op.

So you recommend these free products: Antivir and AVG. But because Kaspersky is free it is not recommended? Uh, ok.
How does ESET blow Kaspersky out of the water. PC Mag wasn't as impressed. Only 3/5 stars.
They rated Kaspersky 7 and Kaspersky 2009 (which you can upgrade to for free) higher:
Kaspersky does serious virus protection, best my software company's seen. Turn off the other bells and whistles unless you want to look at the same nag screen every minute...
Second that. In terms of detection rate, kav should be the top 1 or 2, but I don't like its taging every file in your computer although this is not a problem for some.

Hello sirs, if i buy this now does my 1 year license being at purchase date or once I activate it on the individual computer? In other words, is this one that I can buy 6 months in advance?
Thanks in (hopefully not 6 months) advance
weirdo
The count starts the time you install it.
It's also worth noting that this license will let you download and install the new version for free. So don't pass up on this because you want the new version. You're basically buying a 1 year license to the product family, with version upgrades free during that year.
