Think, by law for the state of California, all emissions equipment, including catalytic converters, is covered by a 5 year warranty. |

I picked up a Mazda 3 5-door (hatchback) about a year ago. The value of the vehicle was/is great. I've got less than 5k on it so far so I can't comment too much on the quality. I live in an urban area, with a lot of short trips. So far so good, but I'm knocking on wood. If you are considering picking up a CX-9 frequent a Mazda forum to see if there are any common/known issues with this current version of the CX-9. Even previous years model feedback is alright assuming there wasn't major overhaul done by Mazda. |

What known issues? The known issues are the Service Bulletins issued by the manufacturer, so to speak - recalls. Since 2007 (CX-9 first year) there has been all but one minor TSB issued. For comparison, between 2007 and 2008 there were 3 recalls issued for Camrys. Does the latter suggest that Camry is unworthy car? No, it simply states that if you own certain year model of Camry - there is a chance that there may be an issue with this model. Kwak has a sour experience with Mazda he owned "one time" (what model? when?). Does it mean that entire Mazda lineup sucks because of that? Juliet said:krazymop said:RickKwak said:We had a Mazda at one time...In the first 50K miles, the tranny gave out 2x, gear shifter went out once, and numerous other minor problem arose . When the transmission went out for the second time, since the mileage had just passed the warranty by 150 miles, Mazda refused to cover the tranny even though it was the exact same problem they fixed first time under warranty. I went all the way upto Mazda USA Vice President.
Instead of fixing the problem, they sent me a $100 voucher on a next purchase. Wow! Add insult to injury.
After fixing it on my own, it went out again, finally I gave up and donated the damn car.
Anyhow I vowed to never buy another Mazda and tell of my experience to everyone. Sorry, a red for you |

I am asking my fatwallet members to help me. thank you, I'm not going to say something rude like "why don't you just google it", but I will say something like "At least take the time to read the post two up from your own" |

Honestly while the tendencies for some brands (look at consumer reports) to break down less is good, just remember ALL vehicles will have issues; some just sooner than later. Look at the service bays of your Honda or Toyota dealers, there will ALWAYS be cars there. Obviously things will always break down. Case in point - a good friend bought an 08 Camry Hybrid new - it has less than 5k miles on it, tranny replaced twice. I have an 08 (new body style) Honda accord, AC went out with under 2k miles. It happens, if it didn't, warranties are useless. All I am saying is, manufacturer backed extended service plans may be a good idea assuming reasonable cost and that you plan to keep it past 3 years/36,000 miles (or with Mazda 4 years 50k miles). I doubt there would be any of us who would spend $25k on a new Toyota or Honda with NO warranty (no matter how good the reputation is). Right?Text |

Actually, PC Merlin, they are not looking for more details like make, model, etc. They are upset because I gave a red on the deal. There are plenty better deals out there. For instance, I just bought a Nissan Quest with $11000 discount that gets 16mpg on local and 24 on highway with DVD, rear sonic sensor, auto sliding door and auto rear door. All I am saying is Mazda, for me, was bad. If I say I have a beach front property in Arizona for $1, you would not give me a red for a bad deal? Of course you would. For me, Mazda is the beach front property in Arizona. Buyers be aware... |
