Not sure how hot this is, but I got an email that 2008 Civics are $500 under Invoice and Accords are $1000+ under.

With high gas prices I know some people are having a hard time finding a decent deal on non-gas guzzler.

FYI Also, the 2009 Civic comes out in about a week.

Looks like Honda might be giving ADDITIONAL hidden incentives to dealers to clear out inventory.

You should be getting a price under invoice ROUTINELY.

The only price you should ask dealer about is OTD (out-the-door) price. "Under invoice" means nothing, when they start adding fees, rebate taxes and charge you $500 for paint protection. You can use that email if you have prenegotiated price, otherwise it's BS, sorry. My Honda came with a $2000 dealer's loss on paper (for IRS), but he was still happy to get my money getting more another way.

Never trust a car dealer and a mechanic. There are usually 2 invoices they carry, one is the real one that you will never see. The other one is for you to get excited about your screaming deal!

great deal. i dont think this applies to northern california though. i would buy a crv this week if this were applicable to me.

the real invoice is about 15-20% less than the "fake invoice".

The best deal is the Friday morning "loss leader". This is where dealers advertise 1 to 3 "at this price" Usually they are base or midline models but sometimes they have higher end models too.

I bought my 05 Corolla S this way. It was fully loaded, with 6 CD changer and premium sound. It was listed 2 at this price. The finance closer said he was shocked to see it go for $3k under the usual price. It averages me 31 mpg, which I am very happy with.
