Will the NYKO Infrared Remote Control work with this new 80GB model? (Will it work the old 80GB model?) I am receiving one for my birthday and rreeeaaaalllly want to use my HARMONY 880 with it.

Thanks!Nope -- buy one from Monoprice (I ordered the network, HDMI 1.3, and USB charging cables from there a couple days ago)

Thanks!PS3 has no built in infrared sensor (the controllers and Sony remote are bluetooth) The Nyko remote comes with a USB infrared adapter that you just plug into to the PS3 and it should work right away -- you can program universal remotes to work with that Newegg Reviews From AVS Forums:
"Can I use my Harmony (or other learning universal) remote with the PS3? Only if you use a IR adapter. The least expensive solution is the Nyko BD remote (sold by Amazon.com and others) that includes a simple IR remote and a IR receiver that simply plugs into one of the USB ports on the front of the PS3 console. This solution is limited in that it cannot be used to turn the PS3 power on, but it provides basic disc playback functions (note the Nyko remote can be used to turn off your PS3 by stopping disc playback, then navigating on the XMB to "Users" then selecting "Turn Off System"). The Nyko PS3 remote is now listed in the Harmony data base so you can easily use only the IR-to-USB adapter that is included with the Nyko remote and program your Harmony remote to control BD/DVD playback on you PS3" |

JATAN- Thanks for the informative post! I worded my question incorrectly, but got the answer I was looking for. I see Circuit City has that NYKO Remote/Adpter for $19.99, so I'll get that soon in preperation! Now, what are these other cables you bought? (I LOVE Monoprice by the way!!) I have some HDMI 1.3 cables from them. Will they work alright, or do they need to be PS3 specific? Tell me about the other cables you bought? (and why?) Thanks bud! |

There is no PS3 specific HDMI 1.3 cable -- any cable will work I bought a network cable since my router is close to my TV (I prefer a wired connection over the wireless since its faster) I also bought a USB A to mini-B 5pin cable since people online were saying that the included charging cable was kind of short |

But do I need 4 pin? 5 pin? 8 pin? thanks. |
