http://www.woot.com/Forums/ViewPost.aspx?PostID=1877709 woot sold this so there is some discussion on it. I saw it last night, the $65 was a turn off, but a $40 rebate makes it a good deal for a "I don't care what happens to it" type camera.
Since Polaroid declared bankrupcy, they've been owned by Chase bank, who are licensing the brand to anyone willing to pay the fees. All their cameras are cheap junk.

has anyone actually used this camera before trashing it? the price is right for a non-perfectionist! thanks for posting (now to figure out the walgreens easy rebate system, can do online in some states now plus you can add 10% bonus if you request giftcard rather than rebate ck...this rebate ends aug. 30)
Some excerpts from those reviews: "it is horrible" "Absolutely the worst pictures ever." "i'd only recomend for a first time camera buyer. or a ten year old."
Good try OP, it was worth looking into at this price, but the reviews make this sound like a $25 money toilet.
I just bought one - I've been looking for a cheapie, and since I shop at Walgreens, that extra 10% that will come back in just a few days (when you refill an existing card) makes this a really good deal.
I've just taken an assortment of photos. Not stellar, not bad. This is a far, far more complex camera than you/I'd EVER expect. It's loaded with features and options including a lot of manual adjustments at the tap of a button on the back right where a lot of people would place their thumb. It's easy to bump a button and find yourself adjusting the aperture or shutter speed and so on.
Overall the main shortcomings are digital noise in low light conditions where the flash (while surprisingly strong) can't compensate. Also less than perfect focus from time to time - often due to a wrong setting or nearly impossible situation for a low-end camera. I'm looking at my photos on a 22" monitor, and I know if I printed them on 4x6 stock, most would be acceptable. You just have to learn to get the best out of this camera and work around it's limitations.

Alright I just got back with mine and I must say For $25 its well worth the price. If I paid $129 or $99 like those guys on the Target site I would write a bad review too.

This one is great to toss in the glove box in the car.

damn... my local WalGreens doesn't have it on sale...
I had one of these and they only work with the flash or lots of sunlight due to the low ISO (400) capability. The AUTO setting would often select below 400 and the picture would not look clear. They work great when you have lots of light or force the flash on for close pictures.
Store I visited also had the 5 MP Polaroid camera on clearance for $59.99, with the same $40 rebate. I purchased the only one they had in stock. They had about six of the i733 model. Rebate limit is one of each model. They may not be the best reviewed cameras, but my young neices/nephews won't know or care how they're reviewed. Thanks, OP

so is it i737 or i733 that would qualify for this rebate? I saw the i733 and another 5 megapixel camera at Walgreen but not that i737?

yeah.. but the picture in the rebate book show i733... ??? Do walgreen even sell i737?
Neither the i733 or i737 are on the walgreens website. I called, and CSR said his system was showing the rebate valid for the i534, i733, and i737, with a rebate limit of any two different models of the three. The store I visited today had the i534 and i733, but no i737.
This is the world's worst camera. I bought it off woot back in December before I checked any of the reviews and I am sorry for that! Even when the flash worked, the pics were so dark you could hardly make out the images. Everything was a lovely shade of green! It was terrible. I sent it back to Polaroid who confirmed that it was "malfunctioned". They said they weren't repairing them (I got the impression I wasn't alone here) so they sent me a newer model. At least the newer model (can't remember the model #) was a working camera. DO NOT BUY THE 737!
Pretty decent camera for the price. I took photos last night in low light conditions and compared to a Sony. The pictures are not as great as the Sony, but for $25 I would say they are pretty good. It's a great camera to keep in the car glove box or to give to my kids.
And BTW the one I bought was a 737.

Be careful - Walgreens is bad about having a great deal like this - and having 1 or 2. Then they offer you a rain check and/or offer to order one for you. It never comes in. Have fits with the head manager and they will give you a deal on something in stock.

fyi - ask them to scan it, some are still marked at $129. plus if they are really bad you can return within 30 days...not sure how that works with the rebate, just keep your receipt
Thanks OP! Purchased a i737 tonight for $25 had to call around to find one almost all stores were sold out, manager told me the rebate wouldnt work on it, but I did it on walgreens.com and it worked fine!(price was at $129 till it was scanned)
I bought an i534 which will be a good birthday gift for my 11 year old niece. Despite the mediocre reviews, I'm sure it's a better camera than the similar priced Disney "toy" camera at Walgreens. I also bought an i733, a perfect replacement for my sister-in-law who played U-Boat Commander with the Nikon I gave her last year.
I checked two stores for the i737, but found none. Both stores had a couple of the i534 and i733 cameras in stock, but the pickings are thin. At these prices I know they are not a great cameras, but it won't really matter if they get broken or submerged.
EVIL CAMERA. Lens froze 24 hours after I bought it. Any number of attempts with different batteries wouldn't revive it. So disappointed, I was playing around with taking pictures of kids, etc. and it just died. ARGH! I had even bought a second one for my boy but hadn't opened the box yet (making sure about the rebate being approved online).
Appreciate the poster though. We win some we lose some... however these cameras are going back to the store pronto!

Yes, you can return it as long as you keep your receipt. Walgreens is a very good company in customer satisfication.
