Reviews seem quite mixed

This is a very good price for this. If you need a directional antenna, now is the time to purchase.

I have this antenna, and it works very well.

The main purpose is to direct the signal and pick up routers that are out of range or very weak at your location.

My personal situation, was to try to connect to a router that was about 100 yards from me. The Hawking was able to pull the signal in and I on average received 30db. With just my integrated card, it was impossible to connect to it, and most times, never detected the signal at all. That is impressive IMHO. By the way, it's small and light, and when I first saw it in person, I thought, there is no way that this will work. I was wrong, it does.

How it works is found on the manufacture site ... HERE

(If any Fatwalleter has a question about using this antenna, PM me.)

Mixed? How do you figure that?

I purchased this piece of crap after reading many rave reviews. My old Airlink usb adapter and Netgear get a stonger signal. The software doesn't even pinpoint where your closest signal is coming from. I was pissed I wasted my money on this n you will be too !!!

Purplewhat has been listening too much to Deep Purple and may have fried his mind!

Kudos to you Unit 451!

I have used this Hawking Hi Gain Antenna now for 3 years. It has been the best antenna I have ever used and I have researched, built, and tested many antennas over the years.

This one is simply the best and here is why:

Incredible software provides detailed meters for both strength of signal as well as speed of connections.

The meters enable you to pinpoint any signal with great accuracy and clarity.

Compact antenna! Some antennas are over 10 times the size.

Easy USB 2 connectivity [many other antennas use a wide variety of strange connectors that break easy and are a PITA [Pain In The Arse].

If you have hours of spare time on your hands, you can always build your own Pringles Can antenna for under $8. They work well, but require hours to build, exact dimensions must be strictly adhered to, and the connectors are PITA's.

If you need an great antenna, you cannot go wrong with the Hawking High Gain Wireless G!

Have a good one everyone and Fatwallet Rocks!
