I bought two Nanos - one from Apple and one from Buy.com. The Apple one came with real Apple earbuds, and a one-year Apple warranty. The Buy.com one was not refurbished by Apple, but rather from a third party, came with aftermarket earbuds, and a 60-day warranty.
Since mine are Nanos, I am not as concerned with the warranty -- they were both around $100 and don't have hard drives. On an 80GB classic, I would opt for a one-year warranty for $20, especially if you have one of the many credit cards that offers a double warranty.
