All-Battery.com has 20 AA 2600mah High Capacity NiMH Rechargeable Batteries with Compact Travel Charger for $19.99 with coupon code T4529 + free shipping.
No offense to the OP...but I would agree 100%...they suck. I bought the AA and AAA. Fully charged they last for a week or so in my TV Remote

How do you know these batteries are terrible, ordered from the site or used this brand before? Certainly a good price!

They also have 24 AAA for $18.99. Maybe that coupon code works on these too. Link
I can't say anything about the quality of the AA or AAA's. I have purchased the C and D sizes from this site and they work very well in my baby's swings. Sometimes I am amazed how at long they last.

FYI - Sanyo has developed a battery which is for all things: remotes, clocks, digital cameras. They are called Eneloop batteries. Not that this pertains directly to OPs batteries, but these are the green friendly ones which perform very well that I am aware of:
and before someone goes posting a review of these batteries be aware that they give people store credit to write positive reviews. check there forums if you don't trust me.

It's a very good deal, especially with free shipping. My experience so far after a year of using All-Battery's Tenergy AA/AAA cells has been good - and I'm not a paid reviewer! Admittedly, I haven't run any formal tests, but my kid has 3 video game systems (and never less than 4 friends here at any given time) all using wireless controllers as well as all the other remotes, cameras, etc around the house. None failed or leaked in over a year of constant use. Frankly, sometimes I wish the damn things would fail so they'd do something else that didn't require a remote (like get out of the house)!!

Don't worry, I'm not part of this review thing! I just found out about it!
I'm surprised FW staff haven't removed this topic altogether yet. I made an All-Battery post (not knowing their sneaky practices) which ultimately got taken down. For the record, their "low self discharge" (wannabe eneloops) aren't as terrible as their regular rechargables but they are still cheap. (hold about 75% capacity of what they advertise and bad battery rate (won't hold charge) of about 5 - 10%)
so in the end you are still better off just paying more for better batteries (eneloops)
I bought 4 9 volt NiMH batteries from them and a charger for them. So far in less than 12 months two of the four batteries have died (the cells inside have expanded and the battery cases have expanded and opened). I say avoid, as you get what you pay for.

For you folks who are having problems - are they with the Tenergy batteries ?
Mine were Tenergy banded batteries and a Tenergy banded charger. I would avoid, honestly and look for deals on Eneloops, Duracell based Eneloops as well as the Rayovac Hybrids.

I have used these exact batteries from this company within the past year. They unequivocally suck. I concur that the smart money waits on an eneloop deal.

I agree. With three six year olds in the house, I keep about 40 tenergy batteries and two chargers busy. Never had a problem, when the batteries go dead I just swap them for some charged ones. I have not tested the capacities to see if they live up to their claims, but for everyday use I believe they work great.
Seems Tenergy bashing is fashionable on Fatwallet these days.
Those are the *exact* batteries we bought at my old school as the "photgrapher's special" of 20 batteries and a charger. The batteries didn't work with all our cameras and also had a weird "metallic" smell. I can't describe the odor better than that.
I took a few of hte batteries home to use with my NiMH charger, and they charged fine. THey lasted OK, but not as long as Energizer "potography" batteries.

I've had these for a while now, and you can't beat the price for the amount of rechargeable you get for NON-ESSENTIAL items that require batteries. They have died on me though, 6 to be exact out of 20 over a span of about 1.5 years. (Charger indicates dead cell, which means it's no longer rechargeable and the safeguard kicks in)
Got that cute novelty clock that runs on AA batteries you got last x-mas? How about that wireless mouse for the kid's computer? Speaking of kids, how about those battery eating toys? Basically what I'm saying is that it's hard to beat these in devices that aren't high on the priority list but do use batteries. It sure beats using those free alkaline batteries you got with stuff and then throwing them in the garbage can or any alkaline/lithium for that matter in non priority devices. (Honestly, unless it's a medical/communication device, you can use rechargeable instead in my opinion)
Compared to my Eneloops and Rechargeable Energizers, they're no-where-near as long and reliable to use. Tenergy batteries seem to vary on voltage ratings on full charge that isn't 1.2v, which makes them unstable. Some cells are fine, others dip to about 1.1 on full, which is really bad on specific devices like Cameras.
Also on a side note, ff you recycle any your used batteries, more "power" to you. "We" all thank you!
