I don't know if this is a great deal but I got the Sharp Aquos LC-52D82U 52 inch LCD for $882.71 OTD on clearance at Sears. It was marked down to $899.99 and the sales guy gave me another 10% off because they needed to get rid of all of last years model. I have a copy of the receipt if anyone needs it.

Scan of receipt is below

Edit by Moderator: Clarified Title

A display unit?

Nope new in box. Being closed out by Sears to make room for newer models for the holiday season

Which Sears was this at?

Tracy, CA

nice find, lucky u

WOW! Awesome deal!!!

Do you know if they sell the 46" version? Can you check and find out how much that would be without the 10% off?

Also, is this model better than the 64U's? Are these 82U's slim like the 64U's?

I don't know if it's worth spending an extra $1,000 for an extra 2 inches.

lol nah i wanted to upgrade the one in my living room and move my 50 inch to the bedroom. Was going to go buy a 37 inch for the bedroom but saw this instead!

A Sharp 37" might even be more expensive than this! Get it now!

I'm sure there are quite a few men........and women also, that would spend a $1,000 for an extra 2 inches...lol.

Are we still taking about tv's? lol

ouch ...

Aren't the 82U's the newest model?
120hz, 1080P, 3 HDMI

any stores in SoCal carry these models on clearance with 10% off?

This is a crazy deal only if we could find one!

Sales guy told me this was last year model that came out in July of 2007. But it is 1080 p, 120 hz, 3 hdmi like u said

this same post is on SD. it looks like people in that thread have already gone to Sears and confirmed that this was a one of a kind deal, not replicable by anyone else. so why are you reposting this over here now as if others could get in on it?

These are two different posts (and we have the better receipt scan ). It's not a one-of-a-kind deal.

The "991" at the end of a Sears stock number indicates that it was a "clearance" item. During the 5 years that i worked at Sears i only saw these "991" items on the floor after they had been returned and/or repaired. Was this a new in the box item?

Wait a sec... some of you are saying this is the 1080p 120hz model... there's NO WAY it can be had this cheap... I say that in disbelief. If this is true, it's got to be a mistake, unless it's a refurb, return, or floor model.

With that said, heck if it was a mistake or not, I'll snatch it up.

I'm keeping my eye on this thread... maybe I'll take a trip...

if it's really LC-52D82U, here is full spec
10% would be by this coupon
even LC-52D64U is $2,299.99 online

Did you grab the last box in Tracy, CA? Was there any more there when you left?

Wow, this is a great deal. I hope my local Sears has one of these in stock. I'll be checking first thing in the morning.

I'll be in Concord, CA tomorrow. 50 miles from Tracy. Did they have any more on the floor? Wonder if it's worth my time to drive there...?

I thought the 82U model has more banding issues than the -64U, or am I thinking of the -92U?

WoWWWWWW

My office internet is blocking the receipt scan. Could someone give us the sku for this tv ?

According to fatwallet logic that means your boss wants the TV for himself.

Funny the things they block. How do they expect us to get any work done when we need to spend all our time seeking 'blocked' information.

Specs say it is 120 Hz CONVERSION, not true 120 Hz. "120Hz frame-rate conversion didn't seem to do much in our tests of the LC-52D92U. Unlike that model, the sets in this series lack a DVI input, making do with a VGA-style RGB input."

scratch this post.

ALL 120 Hz LCDs use frame rate conversions. There is no such thing as a true naive 120hz HD broadcast or HD generated signal for ANY consumer electronic device. Even the most expensive commerical HD equipment cannot output true 120Hz (No 24fps is NOT 120Hz) For most, unless you have commercial projection equipemnt ranging in the 6-7 digit range 120Hz is nothing but a marketing gimmick.

Wow. That is ridiculous deal you found. Though it seems impossible that anyone else will be repeating it. On my way to Sears now.

What is the Sku? I can't read it...

Just to bring up my experience. I went to the Stockton, CA Sears store on my way back from Sacramento this week and the OP's message is true. What Sears is doing is, there is one TV on display and then they may have a couple of TVs brand new in box.

When I went there, I saw one on display and then like 3-4 of them in the box. They were also willing to take it out of the box and hook it up to make sure it works. The TV's they were selling are all last years models.
