this same post is on SD. it looks like people in that thread have already gone to Sears and confirmed that this was a one of a kind deal, not replicable by anyone else. so why are you reposting this over here now as if others could get in on it? |

These are two different posts (and we have the better receipt scan ). It's not a one-of-a-kind deal. |

The "991" at the end of a Sears stock number indicates that it was a "clearance" item. During the 5 years that i worked at Sears i only saw these "991" items on the floor after they had been returned and/or repaired. Was this a new in the box item? |

Wait a sec... some of you are saying this is the 1080p 120hz model... there's NO WAY it can be had this cheap... I say that in disbelief. If this is true, it's got to be a mistake, unless it's a refurb, return, or floor model. With that said, heck if it was a mistake or not, I'll snatch it up. I'm keeping my eye on this thread... maybe I'll take a trip... |

Wow, this is a great deal. I hope my local Sears has one of these in stock. I'll be checking first thing in the morning. |

I'll be in Concord, CA tomorrow. 50 miles from Tracy. Did they have any more on the floor? Wonder if it's worth my time to drive there...? |

I thought the 82U model has more banding issues than the -64U, or am I thinking of the -92U? |

Specs say it is 120 Hz CONVERSION, not true 120 Hz. "120Hz frame-rate conversion didn't seem to do much in our tests of the LC-52D92U. Unlike that model, the sets in this series lack a DVI input, making do with a VGA-style RGB input." ALL 120 Hz LCDs use frame rate conversions. There is no such thing as a true naive 120hz HD broadcast or HD generated signal for ANY consumer electronic device. Even the most expensive commerical HD equipment cannot output true 120Hz (No 24fps is NOT 120Hz) For most, unless you have commercial projection equipemnt ranging in the 6-7 digit range 120Hz is nothing but a marketing gimmick. |

Wow. That is ridiculous deal you found. Though it seems impossible that anyone else will be repeating it. On my way to Sears now. |
