I stopped by Sears in Thousand Oaks, Ca, they didn't have this one, had a few 47s starting at about $899. Salesman said they had a mad house on Sunday when the marked the models down, his cousin came in and bought three. Sounds like insiders knew of this and were ready. |

Sounds like a sick once in a blue moon deal. Poor sales guy said 20+ people call 8pm PST last night for the same TV. |

Just curious has any one ever tried to price match one of these deals to another store? Assuming of course that Sears had one in stock?. |

This question is for the poster that said he/she works at Sears.... I have a neighbor who works at Costco and told me to never buy a tv that is the display because they are on 24/7 and they don't last as long (some of them their life is shorten by 2 or 3 yrs) and the life of a tv set is measured in hours of usage, so was wondering if you agree with that statement. PEACE |

None in stock in Texas City, TX. The whole TV section looked pretty cleaned out, in fact. And it was probably the most apathetic staff I've ever seen, even by Sears standards. |

well parts of it is tru...the tvs are not left on 24/7....they turn them off when the store closes...but the tvs life is measured by the hours of use...so it wouldnt be a smart idea to buy a diplay model of a tv unless ur getting it for 'real' cheap like the one in this forum...and always recommend to buy a protection aggrement with the tv and keep it for atleast a year n then cancel it if u want....Sears extended warranties are cancelable with full amount back if canceled before the end of the manufacturer warranty...so looking at that perspective a display model no matter how much its used, with a good price and protection aggrement will make a good deal...n yea by the way 'NO Sears STORE WILL MATCH THE PRICE FOR THIS SHARP AQUOS"...i got about 25 calls and 14-17 customers coming in to buy that tv....n most of them told me their friend bought it in 'CA' like im a dumass...lol...its either a closeout or a fake reciept...so every1 stop wasting gas and my time...(by the way im an Sears associate) |

I am an actual sales associate for a Sears branch and i work in the electronics department. This may be true in one case, for the first person who started this, but it is NOT ABLE TO BE DONE AT ALL by any Sears. We as associates were informed by management of this and can not do this 899 price by any means. Sorry for the confusion. This is a clearance t.v. priced at $2398.97. Here is the model # LC52D82U. Sears item # 71197 . |

iceui2 said:pevo said:this same post is on SD. it looks like people in that thread have already gone to Sears and confirmed that this was a one of a kind deal, not replicable by anyone else. so why are you reposting this over here now as if others could get in on it?
These are two different posts (and we have the better receipt scan ). It's not a one-of-a-kind deal. What? The SD post is word for word the same, and the receipt scan that's linked to is the exact same (see post 43 on SD). It is disingenuous to post as "I don't know if this is a good deal or not" when the OP has already gotten feedback that it's a steal from SD. Furthermore, since it had already been determined on SD that no one was getting this deal, what was the point of posting this on FW? The only point was to get green for the OP, not to help fellow FWrs. As far as it not being one-of-a-kind, it doesn't look to me like anyone else has gotten in on it either here or on SD. The only thing it has done is waste some FWrs time and taken up the top slot on hot deals: tech. |

Did they have anymore of the 47" LCDs left in stock? I live 10 minutes away (Wood Ranch) so I might stop by if still available... |

I don't know if it's worth spending an extra $1,000 for an extra 2 inches. Not for a TV, but for your body, YES! |
