Dang. I just ordered one of these. It is being delivered today

These do look like they will make a nice HTPC.

alert mods

why would they still offer home basic? that's a slap in the face.

alert mods

Maybe I'm just really dense today but how do you get to the ordering page for this?

$35 shipping....

alert mods

not a bad deal! Thanks OP

You can use the DPA trick to get another 3% off. But $35 shipping is steep. There's no way this thing costs $35 to ship.

I like the look of them but wonder if it could be run on XP as our office software just will not work well with Vista

can you explain?

Cool, Dell stepped into mini PC mini-ITX market. With the coupon, the price is right. The main competitor is A-Open MP965-DR with HDMI (around $400) http://minipc.aopen.com/Global/spec.htm, but that one is a barebone (no CPU, RAM, Vista). Dell beats it hands down, just a little bit bigger.
The PC will be just OK for office (plus no dual monitor support, unless you add it with HDMI) and great as HTPC.

On the Checkout screen select Credit Card, you'll get a banner that says "Pay with DPA and get 3% off". You click on that and use your DPA account.

Five USB 2.0 compliant ports
IEEE1394a port (4-pin)
HDMI video connector
DVI video connector
Integrated network connector 10/100/1000 LAN (RJ45)
AC adapter connector
Digital Audio: S/P DIF Out

This is the only thing that make this hot. Add a remote and you get a good, neat HTPC. I'd add Vista Home Premium for extra $30, just be ready to spend more for extra Gig of RAM. Damn, I spent $180 last week building a small PC for my wife to watch movies, and it came out 2 times bigger than this Dell, plus has no HDMI, so I have bunch of ugly cables now. I'd rather buy this for the money, it's a great deal

Picture on d3ll website shows hdmi and dvi. (shrug) But d3ll has been known to put on pictures that not all models in a given line support.

Anyone know if you can put sep images out on hdmi vs. dvi (or does one mirror the other)?

Anyone know if you can put out a true-hd or dts hd master sound out over the hdmi?

Not really, Should do absolutely fine.Besides I would be willing to bet on it being upgradeable.

**Edit**
I just got a look at a friends Hybrid, He purchased his with the same specs, It has HDMI W/ Audio out, DVI, and a SPDIF port. However a heads up, There is no VGA, So you will need a DVI to VGA connector.

Okay. What's the link to get another system at half off?
