TigerDirect has it for $599.00 with $8.99 Ground shipping and live.com is offering a 12.5% CashBack for TigerDirect purchases which comes out to $525 (+$8.99S&H).
This is the lowest price I could find for this wonderful little camcorder. I know TigerDirect is not a reputable etailer though.
Here is the Tiger direct link for reference only. For CashBack purpose, please do NOT forget to buy it through live.com.

Vixia HF100 Camcorder @ Tigerdirect

Just a note that TigerDirect charges tax for TX, FL, NC, & IL.

This might be useful for people looking for a nice HD camcorder.

My first post.

Thanks!
I just checked Amazon, the price for hf100 is reduced to $604.24.

with TigerDirect, you can assume to not get the live CashBack or any CashBack/rebate at all.

I think you'll be better off Buying it from j&r @ 639 with 15% CashBack. So here is the math.

$639 - 95.85(15%) = $543.15

Then call j&r for the price match and get $31 back. (J&R adds shipping price in price match)

So total
$543.15 - $31 = $512.15 and No tax and free shipping. Not bad. I ordered it couple of days back and just did the price match on phone.

If you call in for a price adjustment, would Live still honor the CashBack? Although, I did a price adjustment for Shoes.com, MS Live still shows the original CashBack credit. It has been over 2 weeks, but I wonder will I get it when the 60 days come.

in41 - decided not to wait the HF11. as it is 2x more expensive, and I dont need the 32gb build in memory. $75 MSLCB show up instantaneously. Good price for a HF100 at $534.

This is a great camcorder, especially for this price. I considered the FS models but there are really more than just higher resolution on the HF100 and a few ounces heavier is OK for me. I don't know how much the HF11 costs, but the prices of SDHC cards have been dropping. I bought my 16 GB SDHC (Transcend, Class 6) from AMZN less than 2 months ago for $80 and it's now in the $50-$60 range.

Back in J&R.

Thanks OP, I ordered one from TigerDirect.

I worried too but the live CashBack email was arrived within 10 minute after I placed the order from TigerDirect.

Is the 15% off still available for J&R? I do NOT see it from fatwallet's website. Could someone confirm it for me? Thank you very much.

It's from live.com not from fatwallet.com Use Live cashback

Thanks OP. I had been wanting to get this camcorder before I go on vacation next month. I tried buying it at J&R last week but it was sold out. Ironically I received an email from J&R notifying me that it was back in stock seconds after placing my order at TigerDirect. The CashBack is already reflected in my account so this worked out well.

I had been wanting this camcorder for a while. In 4 1.
Where can I get SDHC cards deal?
Thanks in advance for any suggestion.

I think the J&R Price Match is risky business. Here's an email I received from a J&R rep:

price matching is done by phone and we will not be able to change the price for orders placed through the CashBack program. If we do change the price, you will lose your discount from Microsoft.

I just bought one at TigerDirect and used Google Checkout. The CashBack is not reflected to my live account yet.

good deal op, I did initially order from TigerDirect but found out that they don't accept returns for this camcorder. Hence I cancelled my order with them and placed one with J&R.

Me too. I don't know that's the problem of googlecheckcout or the seller. So I cancelled my order then.

Looks like its sold out at Tiger Direct.

THIS IS NOT A TRUE HIGH DEFINITION CAMCORDER. ITS IS 1440X1080 RESOLUTION. Full high def is 1920x1080. Beware, read the manual carefully, before buying.
HF 10 is 1920x1080 (Real Full HD)
HF100 is 1440x1080 (Not full HD, Only one edge is 1080)

DONT GIVE ME RED, I JUST READ THE MANUAL BEFORE EVEN THINKING OF BUYING.

any truth to this? I researched a little before buying this and only difference I found btwn HF100 and HF10 was the built in flash memory.

I have no idea what Aztec is talking about.

From canon's website for HF100:

Effective Pixels
Movies: Approx. 2.07 Megapixels (1920x1080)
Still image: Approx. 2.76 Megapixels (1920x1440)

from the canon website..

Full HD Lens-to Screen (1920 x 1080 Capture and Recording)

http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=ModelFeaturesTabAct&fcategoryid=177&modelid=16187&pageno=2

aztec5109, doesn't know what he's talking about.
I just got this camcorder (using this deal BTW!)
The FXP (17mbps) mode is 1920x1080. The lower modes are 1440x1080. READ THE MANUAL.
So this IS a true 1080p HD camcorder.

I see Live CashBack for J&R @ 6.0%. Has this changed in the last few days? If not, where did the 15% come from? Thanks.

aztec5109 might have read the wrong manual
Its true that there were some initial AVCHD camcorders (that were not even flash based) that were not true HD. But HF100 is surely not one of them.

I also wanted to buy another HF100 for my brother from JR. Unfortunately, their CashBack is no longer 15% (sigh!).

Yes it was 15% few weeks back. I am sure it'll come back to 15% soon.

From what I've been reading, I think he may have been reading the HV20/HV30 manuals. I believe they have the 1.33x to bump it up to 1920x1080

http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/hot-deals/882484?highlight_key=y&keyword1=hf100 - since using the CashBack i went with this deal instead $405 shipped from an authorized reseller

Even so, it's measurable resolution that counts, not theoretical (and even that can be misleading sometimes to real picture sharpness).

http://www.camcorderinfo.com/content/Canon-HV20-Camcorder-Review...

So even the 1440x1080 of the HV20 is barely behind Canon's latest and greatest (the HF11).
