If you can get the $100 discount, I'd have to say this is pretty close to an all-time record for price/performance in a laptop, even if it's a "stripped down" model.

I think the rush towards netbooks is really cheaping out the low-end lappy market.

I've been mainly a desktop guy for 20+ years, but don't plan on buying another one in the foreseeable future.

I was excited about this because i needed a card slightly better than the intel gma x3100 thats in all of the budget laptops, however when i got to the store and saw the ad it said 2 hours 15 mins battery life, so now I'm rethinking it

Just a heads up - we bought this Compaq laptop (CQ50-105NR) this morning at the BB and it DOES NOT have the 5-in-1 media reader card. After calling our local store they claimed that the website had a 'typo'.

in that case call BB corporate and get a free gift card.

My local BB had plenty of these for $380(southern CA).

Got there at 11 AM for opening but it already opened at 10 AM. They had another 10 left so I got 2 of these. Nice with Vistap Premium and 2GB of ram.

I paid $279 for 3 of them today. Internet signup saved me $100 on each one, they let me use the same coupon 3x for 3 separate purchases.
