Just got an email for this LCD for In-store purchase only.
Here's the link, but I don't see the $200 instant rebate reflected yet as the ad shows.

Phillips
Philips 47" LCD HDTV
• Full HD 1080p resolution
• ATSC/NTSC/QAM tuner
• Multiple inputs including 3 HDMI ports
$999.99 - Save $400
In-store price after $200 instant rebate and $200 Micro Center mail-in rebate / REG. $1399.99 / 796524 / In-store purchase only

good deal if you can actually get it for $999. i have an older 37" Philips and it's still going fine. i'm a little disappointed with the contrast ratios of just about every LCD TV Philips has ever released though...

Just an FYI Philips now outsources all of their U.S market TVs to Funai. So it says "Philips" on the outside, but it's made by Funai. This may make no difference to you at all, but at least you now have that info. I doubt the drones at the electronics stores would tell you this even if they knew.

it obviously says 1399, 1199 After Mail In Rebate, there is no instant rebate. So its actually 1199 not 999.

It is $999 in store only per the email
The exact text of the email states-
"Philips 47" LCD HDTV
• Full HD 1080p resolution
• ATSC/NTSC/QAM tuner
• Multiple inputs including 3 HDMI ports
$999.99 - Save $400
In-store price after $200 instant rebate and $200 Micro Center mail-in rebate / REG. $1399.99 / 796524 / In-store purchase only"

Doesn"t come with a vga port....any idea how i can connect with my laptop?

I have this tv and am very happy with it. Compared to my 720p Panny plasma and my Eyefi 1080p it serves well. I use the Eyefi to hook up my laptop, so sorry, can't help you there. The contrast on the Panny is significantly better, as would be expected, but the colors on the Philips are richer. The Philips takes you through a nice setup routine when you first plug it in asking you which rendering you prefer of a series of two renderings of the same scene. I don't know who manufactured it, as it may predate the Funai relationship.

what's model number and how is the TV?

Yeah, what model number?

Based on the UPC, the set is the 47PFL5603D. This is a 2008 model set. This is not a Funai set, this is the last round of true Philips sets for the US. The '09 models will likely be the Funai sets.

This is a VERY HOT deal. I got the 47PFL7422 (pretty much the '07 model of this set) from the Philips Outlet and I absolutely love it. If I didn't have that set I'd be all over this. Just make sure you send in for the rebate right away!

BTW, I believe the set has 4 HDMI ports: three in the back and one on the side.

went to see it this morning, looking just so so and the picture/movie is not as good as the nearby Sony, so give up

great deal if its really $999.

For a 47" 1080P, good price!

can anyone e-mail me the add? I want to take it to the store to purchase it!

i just called the store, madison heights, michigan. 7 instock, price confirmed at 1199 w/ 200 rebate. 2yrs warranty 190, and 3yrs warranty 250. you don't need the adv.

I bought 2, (one for my friend) at Paterson/NJ. It is $999 after rebate

What is the sale tax in paterson? 3.5%

If true, it is worth all the toll pay for a trip from NYC.

If you travel to Westbury, it will be a longer trip (maybe 25 or 30 miles), and the sales tax is probably in the 8% range, right?

What's it cost to cross the GWB, $8.00? The Paterson store is maybe 15 miles from the GWB, but you'll be saving about $45 in tax with the 3.5% tax rate in Paterson.

So, including gas savings, you may save between $35 and $40. But if you need to get the set delivered, the Paterson store might charge more than Westbury to deliver to NYC. If delivery costs are comparable and you're OK with driving to Jersey, I'd say it's worth the savings.

after compare all current 47" and 52" LCD TV, this one is still the best priced one. so i decide to buy it and also because I got the Dell $199 ambisound system.

I bought this TV last friday and watched it a few days. The HD is good but the SD content is terrible. Very fuzzy and grainy. I am watching a lot SD so it's not acceptable. I am returning the TV back. Now it's another searching of lcd TV. Any one knows a LCD in this size showing good SD contents?

I bought extended warranty through my visa card, full coverage for 5 years (in-house) for $140.
