I saw this game at the the BM Circuit City for $9.99. It is 19.99 elsewhere so for $9.99 it was a good deal. I went online to buy it and pick up at the store and it is $4.99 online. Final price $5.47. It includes episode 1 and episode 2.

Circuit City HL episodes 1 and 2

This costs less than Steam online delivery from Valve for only one of the two included episodes. In for one.

It is a good deal, thanks. I just bought one online to pickup. It is $5.41 in NYC including tax

what happened to valve? nothing revolutionary in the last 4 years.

thanks OP

Steam is just a great program by itself, especially with the updates to the communities.

Thanks, OP! In for one.

Don't forget the 7.5% - 12.5% LiveCB.

am I the only one that noticed they have a bunch of games for <$1 ? I know they're crap but it's still interesting.

Great game, but it has a very annoying bug under Vista 64-bit where the AI stops and you have to enter the console and type a command to get it to start again.

Thanks OP, in for both Half-Life 2 and HL Episode One (for $16.06 w/ tax)

I am in.. thanks!

Thanks, OP! I'm in for 2 (one for a friend).

As long as your friend isn't named eBay.

Does half-life 2 include counterstrike? And if you buy the disks, does steam force you to keep the disk in the drive to play the game?

Episode pack wont include counterstrike 2, but it does include death match.

Steam forces you to keep the disk and it sometimes doesn't work if you have certain programs installed. At least, that's how it was when HL2 was first released. Personally, I hate getting any games with Steam.

The game rocks, by the way. I can't wait for Episode 3 to find out what happens.

You can't play the Episodes without having HL2, and HL2 does include Counterstrike: Source.

Better deal than the $10 nobama shirt.

That's what I am afraid of. If buying the disk means you have to keep the disk in the drive to play the game, then that would mean I would have to buy hl2 online first, and not be able to buy it from Circuit City with these episodes.

I got a free license for HL2 through some video card promotion back in the day, so my HL2 files are downloaded through Steam, and I purchased (but haven't installed) the Episodes discs through CC, so I'll verify later today. Once you activate a game on Steam, though, you can download them again through Steam, so I don't expect this to be a big problem.

dead? says $9.99...

If I already have the Orange Box, do I need this?

No, it's included already in Orange.

dead

I did not know you would be able to download them later...that's cool. The other plus is the auto update feature. Some developers are atrocious about patching updates to games. Other than that, Steam is a pain in the @ss.

I can't get the game to load. I hit launch in Steam, it verifies the files, and then just sits there. The DVD is in the drive, I have no idea what to do. HL2 and Episode 1 worked fine...any thoughts?
