Help us out - like what? I think this is a pretty decent deal...
ehhh. i sorta disagree.
you can get 399 quads a fair bit. plus tax/shipping. sometimes 2gigs of ram. somethings 3. hd 320-500. different levels of vista. but it's sometimes a lot of work/time.
sure you could spend 2 weeks waiting for the 349 quad dent rig, but how much is 15 hrs of your time worth? least 150 bucks i'd guess. of course theres scripts and stuff. ehhh. you can get a brand new quad for 399 ish? its hard for the outlet to beat that, since none of its is new. while i love the outlet, you just cant go grab cheaper then 399 quads easily. this is a pretty nice deal. when you factor in time, its used, hassle, you cant beat a new 399 quad imho.

(And, yes, I have cleared out my cookies and cache, before anyone gives the usual response when people don't see options that others apparently see to make a deal work.) Was starting to wonder if I was going bonkers or something. Or moreso than usual, anyway.
Its on home page on left, if you click on it their site will show 530 without monitor. It is not where everyone is looking for in monitor slection while customizing it, ideally it should have been there but it seems dell wants to sell their monitors along with this system so separated it from customization menu.

Where on the "home page" is this link for the deal: 530 quad core, etc. etc. $399?

Ahhh, there we go. The good news is, I found the option to not be stuck with a monitor. (For folks looking, go here, and, from the left side, check Inspiron on under Product Category, No Monitor under Desktop Monitor Size, and Intel Core 2 Quad under processor. But . . .) The bad news is, from what I can tell, using that option makes it so you can't order the rest of the configuration as you noted in order to get the lower price. Specifically, 3GB memory and a 500GB hard drive become the minimum configurations; 2GB RAM and 250GB HD aren't even selectable options, from that left-side selection (from which they are greyed), nor later in the configuration.
